Oxford’s boys, Alexandria’s girls lead after first day of Calhoun County championships at Choccolocco Park.

OXFORD — Oxford’s boys lead Alexandria 56-40 through six of 18 events, and Alxandria’s girls lead Oxford 44-4 in through the first day of the Calhoun County track meet.

The county meet concludes Wednesday at Choccolocco Park.

Oxford’s Xavier Endicott won the boys’ discus throw at 155 feet, 2 inches, and the 4×800 relay team took first place.

Alexandria’s Evan White won the high jump at 5-10.

Alexandria’s girls got a first-place finish from the 4×800 relay team, and Denver Browning took second in the pole vault at 8-00. 

Oxford’s girls got second-place finishes from Lamaria Gray in the 400 dash (58,81), Caitlyn McVay in the 1,600 run (5:41.59) and the 4×800 relay tam (10:36.72)

Jacksonville’s and Anniston’s boys are tied for third at 30 points. Jacksonville’s girls are third at 23 points, and Faith Christian is fourth at 20.
