Softball
ALEXANDRIA 15, OXFORD 4: Alexandria pounded out 15 hits while improving to 25-8.
Charlee Parris went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, and Boo Boo Bright went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run.
Reece Carr went 2 -for-4 with three runs and an RBI, and Ryan Lumpkin went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI.
Cali Hess went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Khloe England got the win, allowing six hits, two earned runs and a walk with three strikeouts.
Oxford’s Kylee Stephens went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run. Jayla Jackson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run. Jordyn Alexander went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
OHATCHEE 10, JACKSONVILLE 3: Maddie Stone went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs, and Ohatchee improved to 22–8.
Reese Stward went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and Moll Barnes went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run. Annie Cox went 2-for-4, and Gracie Reed had a double and two RBIs.
Madison Mize singled with a run and an RBI, and Alanah Fitch singled with a run.
Cox pitched a complete game, allowing nine hits with eight strikeouts.
Jacksonville’s Sadie Pate-Whitfield went 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles, two RBIs and two runs, and Raybon Pridgen went 3-for-4 with a double.
PIEDMONT 10, WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 5: Kaelyn Greene went 4-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs, and Piedmont upped to 11-12-2.
Keagan Rogers went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Amarae Champion had a single, two runs and two RBIs. Nakia Bothwell went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs.
Rogers pitched a complete game, allowing six hits with three strikeouts.
Westbrook’s Brooklyn Stewart went 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, and Ava Tucker went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Parker Borders had a single, two runs and an RBI.
PLEASANT VALLEY 11, CEDAR BLUFF 2: Pleasant Valley’s Elise Wheeler went 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and a run, and Charlee Grogan went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run.
Alexa Cranmer went 2-for-5 with three runs and an RBI, and Ellie-Kate Roper. had a double and two RBIs. Hanna Henry had a single and two runs.
Roper pitched a complete game, allowing six hits with two strikeouts and no walks.
MUNFORD 17, ANNISTON 2: Kastin Lathem went 2-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs, and Munford upped to 24-6.
Brooklyn Pressley went 3-for-3 with a home, a triple, three runs and two RBIs, and Bayleigh Durham went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and a run. Jena Gaither went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Chloe Pickette went 4-for-4 with three doubles, four runs and an RBI.
Natalie Garnett had a double and two RBIs.
Madison Arnold, Pressley and Gaither combined to hold Anniston to three hits.
Anniston’s Lyric Williams had a double and two RBIs.
SHELBY COUNTY 7, CENTRAL-CLAY 5: Central-Clay’s Analyssa Harris had a double, two RBIs and a run, and Blair Wheeler added a single, two RBIs and a run.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 8, CLEBURNE COUNTY 0: Cherokee County’s Emma Hill pitched a perfect game with 18 strikeouts, finishing up in seven innings and 104 pitches. She also went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Brooklynn Bruce went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs, and Isabella Patterson had a double and a run. Emma Eberhart went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Kar’leigh Bowman went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
HANDLEY 10, REELTOWN 5: Maknezie McCain went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs, and Handley improved to 10-11.
Milania Nunez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Rayna Smith went 2-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI. Aliyah Wilson went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run and an RBI.
Brynnley Lane went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
HOKES BLUFF 8, ONEONTA 2: Hokes Bluff’s Makenna Bennich went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run in the first game, and Rylee Hill went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Alexis Colvard went 2-for-4 with a triple, and double, two runs and an RBI, and Lacey Grace Hall went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
Pressley Wall went 1-for- with a triple, two runs and an RBI.
Hall pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts.
PELL CITY 14, LINCOLN 6: Pell City got home runs from Kherington Keith, Grace Falls and Phoebe Stover.
Falls went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs, and Keith went 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs, and Stover had two RBIs.
Jayden Smith went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run.
Ally Mosley got the win, allowing three hits, five walks and two earned runs with four strikeouts in five innings.
Lincoln’s Aubrey Machen went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs, Chandler Stephens had a double, an RBI and a run, and Cameron Pruitt had a double and two runs.
RANBURNE 12, VINCENT 5: Shaylie Reaves homered with two RBIs, and Ranburne evened up at 11–11 on the season.
Peyton Smith went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run, and Rylann Graham went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. K.K. Rollins went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
RANDOLPH COUNTY 16, WELLBORN 0: Abi Waters held Wellborn to two hits with nine strikeouts, and Randolph County upped to 16-7.
Hannah Parmer went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, four runs and four RBIs, and Lizzie Milam went 3-for-4 with a triple, four RBIs and a run.
Kyndahl Huckeba added a double, three RBIs and a run, and Lydia Parmer had a single and an RBI.
Cassidy Gray had both of Wellborn’s hits, a triple and a double.
SPRING GARDEN 20, COOSA CHRISTIAN 0: Kendall Birchfield pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts, and Spring Garden improved to 8-16. She also had three RBIs and a run.
Kylie Bates hit a solo home run and scored two runs on the day, and Olivia Messer had a triple, two runs and two RBIs, Ava Boatner had a double, two RBIs and a run.
Paisley Woodall went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs, and Maya Jnnings went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Baseball
OXFORD 6, PELL CITY 2: Rocco Maniscalco homered and had two RBIs, and Oxford picked up an area victory while improving to 22-10.
Marcus Lawler went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs, and Zakree Newton went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Charlie Maniscalco had a triple and a run, and Canaan Whitman had a double and an RBI.
Ayden Noyola pitched a complete game, allowing eight hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 13, ALEXANDRIA 9: Wyatt Baker went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs, and Cherokee County began its area series with Alexandria victoriously.
Aiden Bobbitt went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run. James Hunter went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Daniel Neyman had a single, a run and an RBI.
Owen Jacoway went 3-for-5 with a run, and Nate Black went 1-for-4 with three runs.
Alexandria’s Cole Wheeler went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Jeremiah Heathcock went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run. No. 2 had a single and two RBIs.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 7, FAITH CHRISTIAN 6: Anthony Gooch stole home to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh innings, and L Brodeur’s grounder plus an error plated the winning run.
Gooch went 2-for-4 with a run, and Bryson Dowdey went 1-for-1 with two RBIs and a run.
JCA had three hits but benefited from four errors and eight walks.
Gooch got the win, allowing five hits, three earned runs and two walks with two strikeouts in two innings.
Faith’s Levi Wells went 2-for-3 with two runs, and Luke Robertson went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Reid Reynolds had a single, a run and an RBI.
PIEDMONT 8, HOKES BLUFF 4: Piedmont’s Ethan Tidwell went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Eli Johnson went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, and Cole Austin went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Carson Cleveland and Alex Bass each had a double and an RBI.
Austin got the win, allowing five hits, four earned runs and two walks with eight strikeouts. Crawford Mallett pitched a perfect innings of relief with a strikeout.
Hokes Bluff’s Bray Bearden homered with two RBIs, and Carson Peppers had a double and a run.
WEAVER 17, SAKS 0: Connor Hyatt pitched a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts, and Weaver (12-9) got an area win. He also scored four runs.
Tracen Jones went 3-for-4 with a triple, five RBIs and a run, and Landon Free went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs.
Lyric Newman went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Tucker Michael went 1-for-3 with three runs and an RBI. Elijah Wills and Peyton Andrews each had a single, a run and an RBI.
WHITE PLAINS 4, CLEBURNE COUNTY 0: Colby Jones held Cleburne County to two hits with three strikeouts in seven innings, and Jacob Stamm pitched two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts as White Plains (8-17) got an area victory. Beau Madrigal had a single and two RBIs. Logan Laube and Elijah Turner each had a single and an RBI.
GLENCOE 3, PLEASANT VALLEY 0: Aiden Johnson pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and Glencoe improved to 11-19. He also hit a double.
Cooper Gomez went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Parker Gulledge had a single and an RBI. Jaxon Hollis and Braxton Fortenberry each had a single and a run.
HOPE CHRISTIAN 15-10, COOSA VALLEY 2-0: The Saints improved to 16-7.
Hope’s Caden Marturello homered with three RBIs in the first game, and Easton Strickland went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Kingston Eagle went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
Liam Avery went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run, and Brody Ogles had a double and an RBI.
Strickland held Coosa Valley to three hits with four strikeouts in four innings.
Trevor Ryals pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts in the second game. He also had a double and an RBI.
Kainen Bozeman went 1-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Aziah Ambrson and Cayden Slick each went 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY 3, JACKSONVILLE 2: Matthew Salmon pitched a no-hitter with four walks, two strikeouts and no earned runs allowed, but St. Clair County scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and made it stand for an area victory.
The Saints took advantage of four Jacksonville errors.
Salmon also had a single and Jacksonville’s lone RBI, and Sam Parker-Wagoner hit a double.
WELLBORN 8, RANDOLPH COUNTY 2: Tanner Ingram drove in two runs, and Aston Woodard went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI as Wellborn (12-12) picked up an area victory.
J.D. Talley had a triple and three runs, and Jackson Clark had a single and an RBI. Sawyer Thomas doubled with a run and an RBI.
Ingram got the win, allowing three hits with 11 strikeouts in six innings. Zach Pressley pitched a scoreless inning of relief with two strikeouts.
Randolph County’s Sawyer Hester and Bryant Lee each had a single and an RBI.
SPRING GARDEN 11, GAYLESVILLE 0: Ben Baker allowed two hits with nine strikeouts in four innings, and Brady Ruark pitched a scoreless inning of relief as Spring Garden reached (13-10).
Dawson Ellzey went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, and Hayes Guthrie went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Ruark went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs, and Joel Hunter went 2-for-3 with two runs.
WOODLAND 4, WINTERBORO 3: Jackson Smith’s RBI single in the top of the seventh inning provided the winning run. He also got the win, allowing five hits with three strikeouts and no walks in four innings.
Tripp Morin led Woodland at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Asher Williams had a single and an RBI.
