FIRST QUARTER

–Caden Creel scrambles left, throws to a wide-open Brock Rechsteiner for a 23-yard TD pass at 9:41. Garrison Rippa PAT is good. Drive: 9 plays, 71 yards, 3:41. JAX STATE 7, TROY 0

–Troy evens with a defensive touchdown. T.J. Thompson strip sacks Creel in the end zone, and Luis Medina recovers at 1:39. PAT is good. JAX STATE 7, TROY 7

SECOND QUARTER

–Scott Taylor Renfroe adds a 38-yard field goal at 10:57. Drive: 9 plays, 25 yards, four minutes after Jax State fake punt fails. TROY 10, JAX STATE 7.

–Renfroe adds a field goal at 1:55. Drive: 11 plays, 58 yards, 6:35. TROY 13, JAX STATE 7

THIRD QUARTER

–Rippa hits a 51-yard field goal at 6:35, after Jax State’s running game shows some life. Drive: 9 plays, 22 yards, 4:16. TROY 13, JAX STATE 10

–D.J. Epps returns ensuing kickoff to Jax State’s 20, but Jax State’s D forces a 3-out. Renfore’s 49-yard field goal try is short.

–Jax State coach Charles Kelly draws conduct foul arguing. Fourth down and four at Troy’s 35 becomes fourth and 19 and a punt.

–Jax State’s Ian Mitchell undercuts a Tucker Kilcrease pass for an interception, and Gamecocks take over on Troy’s 47.

FOURTH QUARTER

–Mitchell’s interception sets up Andrew Paul’s direct-snap, 2-yard TD run at 10:06 to give Jax State the lead. Rippa’s PAT is good. Drive: 11 plays, 47 yards, 5:44. Of the 11 plays in the drive, 10 were runs. JAX STATE 17, TROY 13

–Kilcrease pass to Peyton Higgins on fourth down and six is ruled short of the line to gain at Jax State’s 22. Play is under review. Ruling upheld, and Jax State takes over at its 22 with 5:34 to play.

–Jax State’s Tyrin Taylor intercepts a Kilcrease deep ball at Jax State’s 32.

FINAL: Jax State wins 17-13
