Piedmont’s Rollie Pinto and Jonathan Miller earned top awards on the 2025 East Alabama Sports Today Class 1A-3A All-Calhoun County football team

Pinto repeats as player of the year, and Miller is coach of the year for the first time since making the transition from Saks to Piedmont before the 2023 season.

A year after setting the AHSAA record with 1,826 receiving yards, Pinto eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark again in 2024. He had 60 catches and 17 touchdowns. The Jacksonville State signee also had seven rushing touchdowns, three punt returns for touchdowns and two kickoff returns for scores.

For his career, Pinto had 220 receptions for 3,639 yards and 47 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,022 yards on 89 carries with 14 scores, had 36 kickoff returns for 948 yards and three touchdowns, and had 25 punt returns for 654 yards and five touchdowns.

Miller coached Piedmont to a 13–1 season and the Class 3A semifinals for the second year in a row. He’s 31-9 in three seasons at Piedmont and 131-41 in 14 seasons as a head coach at Saks and Piedmont.

Class 1A-3A All-Calhoun County football team

Player of the year: Rollie Pinto, Piedmont, WR/KR, 6-0, 190, Sr.
Coach of the year: Jonathan Miller, Piedmont.
Game of the year: On Nov. 21, Piedmont beat Gordo 28-20 in a Class 3A quarterfinal at Piedmont. Gordo ran 69 plays to the Bulldogs’ 39 and held a near-25-minute edge in time of possession. The Green Wave sustained possessions by converting nine of 10 fourth-down plays. But Piedmont’s Bentley Chandler recovered an onsides kick to keep Gordo from holding the ball longer. Carson Sanders forced a blocked punt when he pushed an up man back toward the punter, who moved to his right while trying to punt away from Rollie Pinto. Chase Kirkpatrick came up with the clinching interception. The second-ranked Bulldogs (13-0) earned their 10th semifinal appearance in 11 years.
