Oxford’s Jay’lin Taylor and Anniston’s Rico Jackson took top awards on East Alabama Sports Today’s 2025 Class 4A-6A All-Calhoun County football team.

Taylor is the player of the year after another stellar season catching passes for the Yellow Jackets. The University of Memphis signee caught 74 passes for 1,142 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed for two touchdowns and returned punts and kickoffs for three more scores.

Jackson coached Anniston to a 14-1 season and Class 4A runner-up finish. The Bulldogs made the state final for the first time since 1994, and Jackson made his second state-final appearance as a head coach, the first with Aliceville in 2016.

Jackson is 27-11 in three seasons at Anniston and 85-70 in 14 seasons as a head coach.

Also, Anniston’s 20-18 victory over Alexandria is the game of the year among games involving 4A-6A teams from Calhoun County.
