ANNISTON — Gary Wigington is known for slow starts and strong finishes to the Calhoun County Golf Tour, but he’ll take an exception on the slow starts.
Not even an offseason wrist injury could prevent him from shooting a 6-under-par 66 in Saturday’s first round of the Anniston City Championship, the 2026 Tour’s first points event.
He leads reigning Tour player of the year Ty Cole by two shots and defending Anniston City Championship winner Jacob LeCroy by three.
