Baseball
ALEXANDRIA 12, CLEBURNE COUNTY 0: Brodie Barber pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in five innings, and Alexandria improved to 10-8.
Cooper Smith went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, five RBIs and two runs to lead the Valley Cubs at the plate.
Sawyer Coggins went 2-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI, and Jacob Slaton went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs, and Cole Wheeler went 1-for-1 with a run and two RBIs.
Cam Johnson went 2-for-2 with two runs, and Emmitt Waldrep had two RBIs and a run.
Cleburne County’s Brayden Maduro went 1-for-3.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 11, PIEDMONT 1: Evan Hill spread out five hits, one walk and one earned run with five strikeouts in six innings, and Cherokee County improved to 7-9.
Daniel Neyman went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, and Nate Black went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs.
Owen Jacoway went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run, and Aiden Bobbitt went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Adam Griffith went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs.
Piedmont’s Brenan Hurst hit a solo home run, and Eli Johnson went 1-for-2 with a double. The Bulldogs are 12-4.
OHATCHEE 6, GLENCOE 4: Ohatchee answered Glencoe’s three-run rally in the top of the fifth with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead, and it stood up.
The Indians’ Kaleb Brunner went 3-for-3 with three runs, and Sawyer Beegle went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Ethan Jones had a single and an RBI, and Josh Hulbert had an RBI. Xavier Luna had a single and a run.
Glencoe’s Jaxon Hollis went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Aiden Johnson went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
OXFORD 7-11, SOUTHSIDE 6-4: Oxford swept a doubleheader with Southside, winning 7-6 and 11-4 to reach 14-7 on the season.
Marcus Lawler’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning of Game 1 put Oxford up 7-3, and the Yellow Jackets fought off a three-run Southside rally in the seventh. Asher Turner fielded Sam Berry’s grounder and threw to first baseman Ayden Noyola to end it.
Lawler finished 1-for-3 with a triple, a run and an RBI, and Noyola went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Rocco Maniscalco went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Charlie Maniscalco had a single, a run and an RBI.
Chase Williams went 2-for-3 with two runs.
In the second game, Williams went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run, and Lawler went 3-for-5 with a triple, a run and an RBI. Asa Burns went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, and Noyola went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
Williams got the win, allowing six hits, three earned runs and two walks with one strikeout in 3 1/3 innings.
PLEASANT VALLEY 12, GASTON 3: Jackson Acker went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and Pleasant Valley upped to 9–5.
Cooper Dougal went 3-for-5 with a run. Dallas Roper and Peyton Mann each had a single and an RBI, and Mann scored two runs.
Jake Barnwell got the win, striking out 12 batters while allowing six hits, five walks and two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings.
WELLBORN 16, SAKS 0: Wellborn’s Tanner Ingram and Sawyer Thomas combined for a no-hitter, and the Panthers benefitted from 10 hit batsmen, six walks and four errors while improving to 8-7.
Thomas struck out seven batters in three innings, and Ingram struck out five batters in two innings.
Jackson Clark had a double, three RBIs and a run, and Jace Bradley had a single, two RBIs and a run. Thomas and Eli Wicklund each had a single, an RBI and a run. Ashton Woodard and J.D. Talley each had an RBI.
HOKES BLUFF 5, ONEONTA 2: Hokes Bluff scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to lead 5-1, and the Eagles upped to 10-7.
Micah Brasher had a double and two RBIs, and Carson Peppers went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI as Hokes Bluff improved to 10-7.
Bray Bearden and Brayden Davis each had a single and an RBI.
WEAVER 9, RANDOLPH COUNTY 7: Zane Hairrell tied the game with a grounder to score Braylen Gregory, and Lyric Newman walked it off with a two-run double as Weaver improved to 6-5.
Landon Free went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Tucker Michaels went 2-for-4 with a run, and Andrews went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. E Willis went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
RANBURNE 14, CENTRAL-COOSA 1: Drew Davenport pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts in five innings, and Ranburne improved to 13-4-1. He also had a double and two runs.
Logan Carter went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and three RBIs, and Owen Henderson went 1-for-2 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Carter Johnson went 1-for-2 with a triple, three RBIs and a run.
WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 11, ETOWAH 3: Emmett Danil went 3-for-4 with three doubles, five RBIs and a run, and Westbrook Christian upped to 8-6.
Brody Blevins went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run, and Brady Carden had a single and three RBIs. Wil Chadwick went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Brodie Johnson went 1-for-4 with a double and four runs.
Daniel pitched a complete game, allowing five hits, three earned runs and two walks with 10 strikeouts in seven innings.
COOSA CHRISTIAN 9, FAITH CHRISTIAN 5: Coosa Christian’s J England went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and four RBIs, and C Mickler went 1-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs. T Dutton went 2-for-3 with two runs.
P Clement got the win, allowing no hits, no walks and one earned run with four strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
Faith’s T Smith went 1-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
BROOKS 17, WHITE PLAINS 3: White Plains’ Jacob Stamm went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Logan Laube went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Softball
WHITE PLAINS 10, CLEBURNE COUNTY 1: Carli Fritts and Kinsleigh Gross combined to hold Cleburne County to five hits, and the Wildcats improved to 16-9.
Fritts allowed two hits with seven strikeouts in three innings, and Gross allowed the hits with three strikeouts in four innings.
Fritts also went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.
Sara Kate Adams went 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and a run, and Piper Thompson went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Ansley Prichard went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, and Emma Tidwell had a double and a run. Carleigh-Anne Green went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Karli Otwell went 2-for-4 with a double.
Cleburne County’s Lilah Robinson went 2-for-3, and Kourtnie Alred went 2-for-3 with a double.
PLEASANT VALLEY 7, GASTON 5: Pleasant Valley’s Alexa Cranmer went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs.
Hanna Henry went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI, and Cailey Almaroad went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Baylee Mae Grogan had a double and an RBI, and Charlee Grogan had a single, a run and an RBI.
Ellie Patterson got the win, allowing five hits, four earned runs and 11 strikeouts with two walks in six innings.
HOKES BLUFF 8, GLENCOE 2: Mazley Ball went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs, and Hokes Bluff improved to 8-7.
Addison Simmons went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Lainey Kate Beggs had a triple, two RBIs and a run, and Lacey Grace Hall went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run.
Alexis Colvard had a single and an RBI.
Hall, Makenna Bennich and Rylee Hill combined to hold Glencoe to five hits. Hall got the win, allowing the hits, one earned run and two walks with seven strikeouts in four innings.
HANDLEY 11, ANNISTON 6: Rayna Smith went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, six RBIs and three runs, and Handley improved to 7-7.
Breydan Watkins went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBIs and a run, and Makenzie McCain went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Mattie Cochran went 2-for-3 with two runs, and Milania Nunez had a single and an RBI.
McCain got the win, allowing nine hits and nine walks with nine strikeouts in seven innings.
Anniston’s Kameriya Thomas went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Lyric Williams went 3-for-5 with a run. Arianna Storey went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY 19, OXFORD 9: St. Clair County’s Izabella Banks went 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs, and Keili Nelson went 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and a run.
Demeria Dean went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Jayla Bass went 1-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
Oaklie Rewis went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and H Simmons went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Oxford’s Jayla Jackson went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs, and Kylee Stephens homered with three RBIs. Haleigh Pruitt went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, and Koriyah Kizziah went 2-for-4 with a run.
PIEDMONT 10, WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 0: Callie Faulkner pitched a four-hitter with two strikeouts, and Ellie Tolbert went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs as Piedmont improved to 5-9-2.
Nakiya Bothwell had a triple, two RBIs and a run, and Faulkner had a double, two RBIs and a run. Keagan Rogers went 2-for-3 with two runs, and Cadence Buttram went 1-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Anna Hase went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Kaelyn Greene went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
RANBURNE WINS TWO: The Bulldogs beat Ragland 13-0 and Spring Garden 7-2 to improve to 7-10.
Shaylie Reaves pitched a three-hitter with one strikeout in four innings against Ragland. She also went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI.
K.K. Rollins went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Rylann Graham went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run. Peyton Smith went 1-for-1 with a triple, three runs and three RBIs.
Addison Gibbs got the win against Spring Garden, allowing six hits, one earned run and no walks with three strikeouts.
Graham went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and Reaves went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Dakota Martin had a triple, a run and an RBI.
RANDOLPH COUNTY 11, WELLBORN 2: Hannah Parmer went 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs and two RBIs, and Randolph County upped to 8-4.
Abi Waters went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Gracie Huckeba went 1-for-1 with a triple and three runs. Khloe Yates had a single and an RBI.
Waters got the win, allowing four hits, two walks and two earned runs with five strikeouts in five innings. Yates pitched two hitless innings of relief with four strikeouts and a walk.
Wellborn’s Ryleigh Smith had a single and two RBIs, and Cassidy Gray went 2-for-3 with a run.
WEAVER 16, SAKS 1: Maddie Stanford homered while going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs, and Weaver improved to 7-9.
Ariel Sargent went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Caitlyn Edmondson went 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs.
Matty Bishop went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Jaylyn Medley and Ashlyn Coleman each had a single and three runs.
Reyleigh Partner got the win, allowing two hits with six strikeouts and a walk.
Saks’ Fabi Yepez had a single and an RBI
WOODLAND 13, WADLEY 2: Emma Elsberry went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs, and Woodland upped to 8-0-1.
Lucy Phillips went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Allie Puckett went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.
Alyssa Taylor went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs. Lilly Kirby went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Railey Williams went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI.
Skylar Vann had a single and two runs.
Williams allowed five hits with 12 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Soccer
WEAVER BOYS 9, FAITH CHRISTIAN 1: Weaver got two goals apiece from Cisco Nira, Uli Lazcano, Gianluca Torres and Carsyn Pippen. Caiden McDaniel added a goal.
