Pleasant Valley rolls in baseball, and Wellborn rallies to complete sweep. Munford, Ranburne, Glencoe, Handley, Pell City and Cherokee County victorious. Lincoln sweeps in softball.

Going around the horn with Friday’s area high school baseball and softball:

Baseball

PLEASANT VALLEY 18, DONOHO 4: Brody Barnwell went 3-for-5 with a double, six RBIs and a run, and Pleasant Valley improved to 7-2.

Wesley Wheeler went 3-for-5 with a double, four RBIs and two runs, and Peyton Mann went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs. Dixon Duncan went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Nic Acker had a triple and three runs, and Cooper Dougal had a double, three runs and two RBIs. Landon Beason had a double, an RBI and a run.

Jackson Acker got the win, allowing six hits, three earned runs and two walks with 10 strikeouts in six innings.

Donoho’s Luke Farrell went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Sam Montgomery hit a double.

WELLBORN 4-8, B.B. COMER 2-6: The Panthers (6-6) rallied from a 6-2 deficit in the second game to complete the sweep.

They scored a run in the fifth inning and seven in the sixth to win it. The sixth-inning rally included Eli Wicklund’s RBI single, bases-loaded walks for Sawyer Thomas and Zack Pressley, Jackson Clark’s game-tying double and Jace Bradley’s two-run single to take the lead.

Wicklund went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Bradley went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.

Pressley got the win, allowing one walk with four strikeouts in two scoreless innings of relief.

Pressley went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the first game, and Tanner Ingram went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Bradley contributed an RBI.

Ingram got the win, allowing four hits, two walks and one earned run with six strikeouts in six innings.

MUNFORD 3, JACKSONVILLE 2: Braydon Nichols’ RBI double in the top of the third inning stood up as the winning run, and Munford improved to 4-5.

B.J. Anderson had a single and two RBIs and got the win, allowing one hit, two earned runs and two walks with six strikeouts over four innings.

Jacksonville’s Javian Fomby had a single and two RBIs.

Jacksonville’s Nick Johnson allowed five hits, one earned run and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings.

RANBURE 11, WHITE PLAINS 8: Ranburne’s Asher Brown went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBIs.

Colton Johnson went 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs, and Carter Loren doubled and scored two runs. Ward had two RBIs and scored a run. Logan Carter and Drew Davenport each had a single and an RBI.

White Plains’ Caden Foster went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Keaton Lindsey went 2-for-3 with two runs, and Beau Madrigal went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Matthew Masson and Walker Edwards each had a single and an RBI.

GLENCOE 10, GASTON 0: Daniel Bradley went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Glencoe improved to 3-9. Justin Rogers went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Jacob Loftis added two RBIs, and he pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk in five innings.

HANDLEY 12, WOODLAND 1: Aden Anthony went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run, and Handley improved to 5-4. Cole Davis went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Cordan Patterson, Skylar Hester, Landon Norred and Kaleb Powel each had a single and an RBI. Powel scored two runs.

Alex Busbin had a single and two runs.

Bronson Veal got the win, allowing two hits, four walks and one earned run with two strikeouts in four innings.

Woodland’s Garrett Hendrix, Connor Shepperd and Tripp Morin each had a single, and Jackson Smith had an RBI.

PELL CITY 7, SOUTHSIDE 3: Pell City’s Channing Beavers went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Parker Rice went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI, and Jacob Burgos went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Thomas Bolton got the win, allowing five hits, one walk and two earned runs with one strikeout in 2 2/3 innings.

Southside’s Ethan Sarratt went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Alex Brewer added a single, a run and an RBI.

CHEROKEE COUNTY 11, SPRING GARDEN 0: Cherokee County scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, ending the game on Nate Black’s two-run home run. He finished 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBIs and two runs.

Owen Jacoway went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Case Hill had a single, two RBIs and a run. Aiden Bobbitt went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run, and Evan Hill went 2-for-3 with a double and a run.

Cam Mayo spread out seven hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

Spring Garden’s Clayton Sadler hit a double.

Softball

LINCOLN WINS TWO: The Golden Bears (9-6) beat Sylacauga 4-2 and Munford 5-4.

Aubrey Machen homered with two RBIs and scored two runs against Sylacauga, and Cameron Pruitt doubled and scored a run. Shelby Williams got the win, allowing four hits, two runs and one earned run with five strikeouts in five innings.

Lincoln scored five runs in the first inning and made it stand up against Munford. Pruitt hit a solo home run, and Gracyn Oglesby singled and drove in two runs. Emery-Kate Hendrix and Chandler Stephens each had a double and an RBI.

Stephens got the win, allowing three hits, four earned runs and four walks with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.

MUNFORD SPLITS: The Lions (14-3) beat Talladega 12-0 and lost to Lincoln 5-4.

Madison Arnold pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and a walk in 3 2/3 innings against Talladega, and Brooklyn Haywood came on to get the final out.

Ashtyn Bishop went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Jena Gaither had a double, two RBIs and a run, and Kastin Lathem had a single, two RBIs and a run.

Brooklyn Pressley went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, and Arnold went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Lathem and Chloe Pickette each homered with two RBIs against Lincoln.

RANDOLPH COUNTY DROPS TWO: The Tigers (5-3) fell to Vinemont 2-1 and Danville 9-6.

Kinsley Weathers had a single and RBI against Vinemont, and Bryer Thompson and Abi Waters each went 2-for-3. Waters pitched a solid five innings, allowing five hits, one earned run and one walk with five strikeouts.

Weathers went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run against Danville, and Lizzie Milam went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Thompson went 3-for-3 with two runs.

GLENCOE 10, SAKS 6: Andeemae Skinner went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and Glencoe improved to 3-4.

Katy Talbot went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Evelyn Nowak went 1-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Kynsley Freeman went 1-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI.

Anna Alred had a single, a run and an RBI, and Riley Brothers added two RBIs.

Ryleigh Wells got the win, allowing two hits, two earned runs and seven walks with six strikeouts in four innings.

Madison Lindsey and Lynikah Varner each collected one hit for Saks. Shenaria Echoles, Jamari Peters, Ayshia Billingsly, and Varner each drove in one run.

Soccer

JACKSONVILLE GIRLS 2, BOAZ 1: Emerson Weaver and Jayci Taylor each scored a goal, and Sophie Snyder added an assist as Jacksonville’s girls improved to 8-0. Goalkeeper Neveah Nicholson recorded seven saves.

BOAZ 3, JACKSONVILLE BOYS 1: Cameron Turner scored Jacksonville’s girls with an assist from Judah Jennings, and goalkeeper Jackson Patterson finished with 10 saves.
