Parris swings hot bat as Alexandria softball makes it four consecutive victories, and there’s so much more Friday softball and baseball from around the area.

Going around the horn and over the pitch for Monday’s area high school baseball, softball and soccer action:

Softball

ALEXANDRIA SWEEPS: Playing at Sand Mountain Park, the Valley Cubs (5-4) made it four wins in a row by beating Sardis 10-2 and Brewer 6-0.

Charlee Parris went 4-for-4 with a home run, a triple, four RBIs and three runs against Sardis, and Ryan Lumpkin went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. 

Boo Boo Bright went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Cali Hess had a double, a run and an RBI.

Reece Carr got the win, allowing four hits, two earned runs and two walks with two strikeouts.

Carr pitched a three-hit shutout against Brewer, striking out six batters with one walk.

Parris continued to swing a hot bat, going 4-for-4 with a home run, a triple, two RBIs and two runs. She finished the day 8-for-8 with two home runs, two triples, six RBIs and five runs.

Katelynn Robertson had a single and two RBIs against Brewer.

WHITE PLAINS 7, COLLINSVILLE 1: Kinsleigh Gross got the win, allowing two hits with one walk and three strikeouts in five innings at Sand Mountain Park.

Jaylie Holt went 3-for-3 with a run, and Sara Kate Adams went 2-for-3 with two runs. 

Carli Fritts doubled and drove in a run, and the Wildcats got a single, a run and an RBI apiece from Carleigh Anne Green and Piper Thompson. Ansley Prichard had a single and an RBI.

PLEASANT VALLEY SPLITS: Playing at Fort Payne Sports Complex, Pleasant Valley beat Section 12-2 and lost to Madison County 10-2.

Hanna Henry had a double, three RBIs and a run against Section, and Ellie Patterson went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and three runs.

Alexa Cranmer went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Elise Wheeler went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Abby Evans got the win, allowing four hits, two earned runs and no walks in two innings. Ellakate Roper allowed one hit and one walk in two innings.

Almaroad had Pleasant Valley’s hit, a single, against Madison County and scored a run, and Henry had an RBI.

HOKES BLUFF SPLITS: Playing at Sand Mountain Park, the Eagles (3-6) fell to Albertville 7-4 then beat Gadsden City 16-0.

Lainey Kate Beggs managed Hokes Bluff’s lone hit, a single against Albertville. Lacey Grace Hall had two RBIs and a run, Mazley Ball and Mylie Copeland each had an RBI.

Lilli Wood pitched a two-hit shutout against Gadsden City, with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Beggs went 2-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs, and Alexis Colvard went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs.

Hall had a double, three runs and two RBIs, and Addison Simmons went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs.

Ball had a double, an RBI and a run, and Rylee Hill had a single, a run and an RBI.

WEAVER 5, VALLEY HEAD 4: Jaylyn Medley hit a walkoff triple, and Weaver (2-7) won at Sand Mountain Park.

Heaven Bishop doubled and drove in two runs, and Reyleigh Partner tripled with an RBI and a run. Ariel Sargent hit a double with an RBI.

Partner got the win, spreading out eight hits with one earned run allowed and no walks with six strikeouts.

Baseball

HOPE CHRISTIAN 14, BESSEMER ACADEMY 7: Easten Strickland went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs, and Hope improved to 9-2.

Cayden Slick went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, and Kingston Eagle went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI. 

Aziah Amberson went 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs, and Kainen Bozeman went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs.

Eagle got the win, allowing four hits, three earned runs and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings.

CENTRAL–CLAY 6, BOWDON (GA.) 4: K Mullins went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and the Vols improved to 4-3.

J.T. Wilkerson went 1-for-3 with two runs. Ryder Waldrep and H Foster each went 1-for-3 with a run. B Sprayberry added an RBI and a run.

SOUTHSIDE SWEEPS: The Panthers (5-3) beat Gaston 13-0 and Glencoe 15-0.

Casen McGarity and Wilson Roberts combined for a one-hitter against Gaston. McGarity allowed one hit and two walks with nine strikeouts in four innings for the win, and Roberts had three strikeouts and a walk in one inning.

Eli Stewart had two of Southside’s hits, going 2-for-2 with a run. Eli Frachiseur and Kolby Dodd contributed a single and an RBI apiece.

Gaston issued 10 walks.

Alex Brewer went 3-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and two runs against Glencoe. Abe Martin went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, and Shelby Houston went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and an RBI.

Ethan Sarratt doubled with three RBIs and a run, and Carson McGraw added a single, two RBIs and a run.

Martin pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts in six innings.

GLENCOE SPLITS: The Yellow Jackets beat Gaston 20-1 and lost to Southside 15-0.

Glencoe pounded out 15 hits against Gaston. Bryce Borntrager went 4-for-4 with a triple, a double, five RBIs and three runs, and Jayman Mintz went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Justin Rogers went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI.

Levi Lasseter and Daniel Bradley each had a double, a run and an RBI.

Jaxon Hollis pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and two walks in six innings.

Hollis, Mintz and Luke Johnson each singled against Southside.

SPRING GARDEN 11, SAND ROCK 6: Ben Baker went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Spring Garden upped to 4-5.

Clayton Sadler went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs, and Eli Bates had a double, two RBIs and a run.

Joel Hunter went 2-for-4 with two runs, and Dawson Ellzey went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Zack Scogin went 2-for-3 with a run, and Hayes Guthrie went 2-for-3 with a double.

Ellzey pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits, one earned run and four walks with five strikeouts in seven innings.

DESHLER 3, WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 1: Westbrook’s Brady Carden had a double and an RBI, and Bo Kilgo pitched a solid six innings, spreading out six hits with two walks, two strikeouts and three earned runs allowed.
