ANNISTON — Area titles usually pass off as the first step to long postseason runs, and Anniston’s girls have a history of deep runs.
Winning area titles never get old, though.
“It means everything,” Anniston post Saniyah Spinks said. “We want to run every year. We want to keep the legacy going.”
Spinks scored 15 points while earning tournament most valuable player honors, and Anniston downed Talladega 39-29 in Tuesday’s Class 4A, Area 8 final at Anniston.
The Bulldogs (18-7) will play host to Area 5 runner up Trinity Presbyterian in Friday’s sub-regional action, and Talladega will go on the road to play Montgomery Catholic.
