Faith’s Ricard, JCA’s Mullinax bring home gold at state indoor championships. PV’s Parris runs way to two silver medals. Faith’s girls lead area teams in fifth.

BIRMINGHAM — Faith Christian’s girls had the top team finish after Friday’s action in the AHSAA state indoor track championships, finishing fifth in the Class 1A-3A field in Birmingham CrossPlex.
The Lions had 33 points. Altamont repeated as state champions with 110.
Pleasant Valley (24 points) finished eighth and Jacksonville Christian (22) ninth to round out the area’s top 10 finishing teams.
Medalists for area teams included the following:
FAITH CHRISTIAN: Annie Ricard, first in high jump (5-0).
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN: Mollie Mullinax, first in 60 hurdles (9.26), third in 60 dash (8.01), third in 400 dash (1:01.12).
PLEASANT VALLEY: Ella Parris, second in 400 dash (1:00.49), second in 800 run (2:26.20); and Levi Duncan, third pole vault (11-6).
OXFORD: second boys’ 4×800 relay (8:01.68).
