Top-ranked Oxford handles visiting Jasper. Alexandria, Jacksonville, Weaver and Westbrook Christian sweep area doubleheaders. Anniston, PV, Donoho and Hope Christian boys, Ranburne girls victorious.

OXFORD — Chris Latson hit four 3-pointers while scoring a game-high 15 points, and Class 6A top-ranked Oxford downed visiting Jasper 57-30 on Friday.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 17-4.

Marcus Perry Jr. added 12 points, hitting all seven of his free throws, and Jermaine Caver hit two 3-pointers on the way to eight points.

Jaylen Alexander hit all six of his free throws to account for his six points. Oxford hit 24 of 26 free throws overall.

ALEXANDRIA 52, WHITE PLAINS 43: M.J. Morris led the way with 16 points, hitting 10 of 13 free throws, and Alexandria won an area game while improving to 12-6 overall.

Royce Trantham added 11 points, and the Valley Cubs got eight points apiece from J.J. Beason and Cole Wheeler. Beason hit two 3-pointers.

Crew Martin and Rodney Peery led Class 4A No. 10 White Plains (15-8) with nine points apiece. Martin hit three 3-pointers, and Peery hit two. Harmon Cobb added eight points.

ANNISTON 62, TALLADEGA 44: Kyree Lewis led a balanced Anniston scoring output with 15 points, including two 3-pointers, and Anniston picked up an area victory while improving to 9-5.

The Bulldogs also got 12 points apiece from Kaden Brown, Jakorie Carr and Tariq Judkins. Brown hit three 3-pointers.

Logen Morris paced Talladega with 13 points. R’landis Jones and Joshua Storey added eight points apiece.

JACKSONVILLE 49, LINCOLN 40: Christian Garner, Kamouri Harmon and Ben Pridgen scored 10 points apiece, and Jacksonville improved to 11-10 while picking up an area victory.

Kamouri added nine rebounds, five assists and two steals. Garner pulled down five rebounds, and Pridgen accounted for four rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals.

Lincoln got 16 points from Brayden Collins, and Ahmari Bell contributed 13.  

WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 53, PIEDMONT 47: Brady Carden led the way with 13 points, and Westbrook improved to 14-6 while picking up an area victory. Titus Jones added 11 points, Bo Kilgo nine and Carter Cothran eight with two 3-pointers.

Rollie Pinto paced Class 3A No. 7 Piedmont (11-6) with 16 points. Nick Glover’s 13 points included four 3-pointers.

WEAVER 80, WELLBORN 24: D.J. Marbury scored a game-high 20 points, including two 3-pointers, to move within 25 points of reaching 1,000 for his career, and Weaver upped to 9-15 with an area victory.

Weaver also got eight points apiece from Idris Nira and Taylor Green and seven apiece from Junior Allen, John Curtis Reeves and Cisco Nira.

Justus Williams paced Wellborn with 10 points.

PLEASANT VALLEY 68, SAKS 38: Greer Laros led the way with 20 points, and Pleasant Valley improved to 12-6.

Braxton Salster added 13 points and six rebounds, and Peyton Mann added 10 points.

Jayden Culpepper paced Saks with 13 points, and Makhal Smith added nine.

DONOHO 62, FAITH CHRISTIAN 54: Hartwell Church hit four 3-pointers on the way to 17 points, and Donoho improved to 8-11 while picking up an area victory.

Ethan Crawford turned in 15 points, including one 3-pointer, and Carson Chandler’s 12 points included a 3-pointer.

Faith Christian (13-7) got a game-high 24 points from Colin Anderson, and Parker Robertson scored 22 points. The Lions hit 21 of 29 free throws.

HOPE CHRISTIAN 52, HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 43: Kailub Sparks led Hope with 11 points, and the Saints picked up a region victory. He also contributed three steals and two blocks.

Liam Avery added 10 points and six rebounds. Carson Campbell turned in nine points and three steals, and Javon Vinson added eight points, four steals and three assists.

Campbell and Vinson also pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds apiece.

Girls

JACKSONVILLE 67, LINCOLN 25: Jayci Taylor hit two 3-pointers and seven of nine free throws on the way to 31 points, and Jacksonville improved to 19-3 with an area victory.

Neveah Nicholson hit four 3-pointers while scoring 15 points. 

Ontarriah Braxton contributed six rebounds, five steals and three assists to go with three points. Emerson Weaver added seven points, five rebounds and three assists.

Lariah Robinson led Lincoln with 10 points.

ALEXANDRIA 69, WHITE PLAINS 26: LaNajia Redwine led Alexandria with 14 points, and the Valley Cubs improved to 10-9 while winning an area game. She hit six of eight free throws.

Kate Wheeler’s 13 points included one 3-pointer, and Charlee Parris’ 11 points included one 3-pointer.

White Plains’ Brooksly Thielker scored 17 points. The Wildcats are 2-15.

WEAVER 53, WELLBORN 2: Aaliyah Marks scored 27 of her game-high 29 points in the first half, including three 3-pointers, and Weaver improved to 14-8 with an area victory. Kimora Miles added nine points, and Charice Diamond added eight points.

Destiny Williams scored a bucket for Wellborn (0-18) in the fourth quarter.

WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 52, PIEDMONT 37: Caroline Taylor led the way with 16 points, and Westbrook Christian picked up an area victory. Jordan Brooks hit three 3-pointers on the way to 14 points.

Piedmont’s Na’kia Bothwell scored a game-high 26 points. The Bulldogs are 9-11.

RANBURNE 47, CENTRAL COOSA 14: Tinley Phillips hit four 3-pointers on the way to 19 points, and Class 2A sixth-ranked Ranburne improved to 18-6. Kallie Brunson added seven points, including one 3-pointer. Myrakel Coleman led Central Coosa with eight points.
