Alexander leads Oxford boys past Hoover. Wheeler shoots Alexandria boys to win in OT. Kelley powers Jacksonville boys to victory, and Jacksonville girls up to 5-1. PV boys now 2-0, Glencoe boys roll, and Raburne gets a buzzer beater.

HOOVER — Jaylen Alexander hit all 11 of his free throws on the way to a game–high 21 points, and Oxford’s boys downed Hoover 64–58 on Tuesday.

Oxford (4-3) also got 17 points from Marcus Perry Jr., who hit two 3-pointers and all five of his free throws. Caleb Wilson hit two threes on the way to 13 points.

Oxford hit 22 of 27 free throws.

ALEXANDRIA 76, SARDIS 72 (OT): Cole Wheeler hit six 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 29 points, and the Valley Cubs came away victorious.

Wheeler hit four 3-pointers in the second quarter.

J.J. Beason added 14 points, and M.J. Morris scored 10.

JACKSONVILLE 87, WEAVER 46: Braylon Kelley poured in 31 points to go with four steals, and Jacksonville’s boys upped to 4-1.

Kamouri Harmon added 23 points and five assists. The Golden Eagles also got 10 points, seven rebounds and four steals from Christian Garner, nine points from Mason Scoggins and eight rebounds from Ben Pridgen.

D.J. Marbury led Weaver with 16 points.

PLEASANT VALLEY 61, SAKS 40: Braxton Salster led the Raiders (2-0) with 20 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and three steals. Mason Myers and Greer Laros had eight points apiece.

Saks’ Jayden Culpepper had 13 points, and Sean Mial finished with 12.

GLENCOE 83, OHATCHEE 41: Grant Smith led four Glencoe players in double figures with 21 points, and the Yellow Jackets won in Class 3A, Area 12 play.

Jace White and Bryce Borntrager added 14 points apiece, and Montress Hampton scored 12.

One night after crossing 1,000 career points, Alston Carroll led Ohatchee with 14 points.

RANBURNE 48, FAITH CHRISTIAN 46: Seth McAdams hit a 3-pointer with two seconds left, and Ranburne held off Faith Christian.’ He finished with 12 points.

Ranburne’s Creed Young led the way with a game-high 24 points.

Faith Christian got 21 points apiece from Parker Robertson and Colin Anderson. They hit two 3-pointers apiece.

Girls

JACKSONVILLE 70, WEAVER 45: Jayci Taylor had 21 points, six rebounds and three steals to lead Jacksonville (5-1).

Ontarriah Braxton added 18 points, four rebounds and three assists, and the Golden Eagles got 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists from Neveah Nicholson.

Raybon Pridgen added eight points.’

Aaliyah Marks paced Weaver with 15 points, and Maddie Stanford added 14.

SARDIS 59, ALEXANDRIA 46: Charlee Parris hit three 3-pointers and led Alexandria with 22 points, and Zoey Wilson hit three 3-pointers on the way to 10 points.
