OHATCHEE — Alanah Fitch proved herself as a hitter while helping Ohatchee make yet another Elite Eight appearance this past season, and she’ll get the chance to prove herself as a college volleyball player.

The Ohatchee senior signed Tuesday with Gadsden State Community College. She signed during a ceremony in Ohatchee’s library.
She’ll join several other players from Calhoun County who have signed with Gadsden State.
“I chose Gadsden State because I felt more comfortable there,” Fitch said. “I’ve played with some of the girls on the team right now from club volleyball, and I’m super excited to play with them again.
“I also chose Gadsden State because it’s close to home, and I won’t be moving away from my family!”
Fitch moved into a hitting role in 2025 and finished with 465 kills. She also had 336 digs, 66 aces, 29 assists and 11 blocks.
She was a first-team East Alabama Sports Today Class 1A-3A All-Calhoun County selection.
“Alanah is just one of those kids that you can’t help but be proud of!” Ohatchee coach Rebecca Hughes said. “She’s going to give 110 percent to everything she does!
“We can’t wait to see all that she will accomplish at Gadsden State!”
