‘Girl power’

Five Alexandria athletes celebrate signings in across three sports … two in volleyball, two in cross country and one in softball.

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria volleyball coach Whitney Welch hailed “girl power” during Thursday’s signing ceremony in Larry R. Ginn Gymnasium, and there was plenty of it.

Volleyball players Sophie Martin (Snead State Community College) and Kylie Jeffers (Gadsden State Community College), softball player Charlee Parris (Gadsden State) plus cross country runners Toryn Barnes (Gadsden State) and Claire McFarland (Gadsden State) celebrated their signings.
