WELLBORN — Great teams have playmakers, the kind that make plays not everyone can. Undefeated and second-ranked Piedmont’s playmakers made plays Friday night.
Rollie Pinto’s four touchdowns, including two on punt returns that saw him run back before he turned upfield, and Bentley Chandler’s fumble return that he stole from a ballcarrier highlighted the Bulldogs’ 56-14 victory over Wellborn in Class 3A, Region 6 action on The Hill.
Piedmont upped to 9-0, 7-0 in a nine-team region headed into next week’s region and regular-season finale against Glencoe at home.
Wellborn, having clinched a playoff berth a week ago, fell to 5-3, 5-2 region.
