BIRMINGHAM โ€” Maddox Mims and Caleb Jenkins combined to pass for five touchdowns, and Oxford finished Class 6A, Region 6 play with a 55-6 victory at Huffman on Thursday.

The Yellow Jackets (5-4) upped to 4-2 in region play and will likely finish in a second-place tie with Mountain Brook and Pell City, presuming Mountain Brook beats Shades Valley tonight. Mountain Brook would have the three-way tiebreaker based on defeated non-region opponents, and Oxford would finish third with a head-to-head tiebreaker on Pell City.

Oxford would open the playoffs on the road against Region 5 runner up Parker.

Mims completed all four of his passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, and Jenkins completed all four of his passes for 98 yards and three touchdowns.

Jayโ€™lin Taylor caught four passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns, and Andre Ford caught a touchdown pass.

Running back Caleb Wynn rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 32 yards and a touchdown, and Isaiah Kennedy rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown.
