HOOVER — Ohatcheeb will go to next week’s state volleyball tournament as the North Regional Class 3A runner up.
The Indians beat Elkmont 25-20, 25-18, 24-26, 25-17 to reach Thursday’s regional final and fell to Lauderdale County 21-25, 22-25, 18-25.
Ohatchee (35-9) will play South Regional third-place finisher Houston Academy on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Birmingham CrossPlex.
Ohatchee’s top performers:
— Kate Ryan: four kills, 67 assists, two aces, 15 digs, three blocks.
— Ayla Crook: 12 kills, three assists, four aces, 22 digs, two blocks.
— Emily Riddle: 21 kills, one ace, six digs, 10 blocks.
— Bailey Fowler: seven kills, one assist, seven digs, five blocks.
— Alanah Fitch: 31 kills, four assists, three aces, 16 digs, one block.
— Ellie Vice: six kills, one dig, two blocks.
— Mollee Barnes: one kill, two assists, one ace, 32 digs.

ALEXANDRIA: The Valley Cubs won two matches Thursday to reach the North Regional Cllass 4A semifinals and clinch a berth in next week’s state tournament.
Alexandria beat Central Florence 8-26, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18 and St. John Paul II . The Valley Cubs will play West Morgan on Friday at 9:30 a.m.

— Charlee Parris: 18 kills, seven digs, one block, three aces.
— Zayley Mobbs: six kills, 11 digs.
— Sophie Martin: eight kill, 58 assists, five digs, four blocks, four aces.

OXFORD: Playing in the Class 6A bracket, the Yellow Jackets beat Cullman 25-18, 25-23, 27-25 then beat Buckhorn 19-25, 25-16, 18-25, 25-19, 15-4.
Oxford clinched a berth in next week’s state tournament. The Yellow Jackets also reached the regional semifinals and will play Homewood on Friday at 10 a.m,

PLEASANT VALLEY: The Raiders opened play in the Class 2A North Regional by beating Falkville 25-16, 25-18, 25-10.
The Raiders swept Sulligent 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 in the second round and will play Covenant Christian in the semifinals on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Pleasant Valley, the two-time defending Class 2A state champion, also clinched a state tournament berth.
Pleasant Valley’s Elise Wheeler finished the day with 67 assists to surpass 1,000 (1,012) for the year.
