ALEXANDRIA — Ava Thomas had 44 kills, and Payton Brooks dished out 74 assists as Oxford won three matches on the way to finishing first in the Martha McCarley Memorial Tournament at Champions Sports Academy on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets beat Sylacauga 25-22, 25-19, Springville 25-13, 27-25 and Jacksonville 25-17, 25-20, 31-29 in the final.

— Brooks: 22 digs, nine aces, 74 assists.
— Preslee Reeves: 11 digs, three aces.
— Adriana Bonilla: 28 digs.
— Thomas: 44 kills, one block.
— Tia Nichols: 11 kills, one block.
— Emerald Cole: 15, three kills.
— Taleah Powell: nine kills, two blocks.
— Lana Horn: nine kills.
JACKSONVILLE: The Golden Eagles beat Springville and Sylacauga before falling to Oxford 17-25, 20-25, 29-31 in the Martha McCarley Memorial Tournament at Champions.

— Layna Wise: five aces, five kills, three blocks, three digs.

FAITH CHRISTIAN: The Lions went 4-1 in the Wellborn Slamfest on Saturday, beating Ranburne 25-22, 25-19, Munford 25-20, 25-18, Wellborn 25-17, 25-11 and Weaver 25-9, 25-10 before falling to Ashville 25-18 & 25-17 in the gold bracket final.

OHATCHEE: The Indians went 4-1 and finished as gold bracket runner-up at Supreme Courts on Saturday, beating Grissom 2-0, Scottsboro 2-0, Hale County 2-0 and Douglas 2-0 before falling to Grissom 0-2 in the championship.
