Pleasant Valley opens area play with victory. Alexandria sweeps, Glencoe splits Jacksonville tri. Cherokee County sweeps Westbroook tri. Ohatchee victorious.

PLEASANT VALLEY — Ella Parris and Ellie Patterson recorded a team-high 14 kills apiece, and Pleasant Valley beat Sand Rock 25-20, 25-27, 25-8, 19-25, 15-9 in Class 2A, Area 13 play Tuesday.

It marked Pleasant Valley’s area opener. The Raiders’ top performers:

— Parris: 14 kills, nine blocks, seven aces, 26 digs.
— Patterson: 14 kills, eight digs, two assists.
— Madison Schwabe: 12 kills, six blocks, one ace, 25 digs, two assists.
— Cailey Almaroad: one kill, 13 digs.
— Zalie Curvin: one ace, seven digs.
— Bella Uesry: one kill, three blocks, four digs.
— Elise Wheeler: four kills, two aces, 14 digs, 42 assists.

JACKSONVILLE TRI: Alexandria beat Jacksonville 30-28, 25-21 and Glencoe 25-23, 25-27, 15-12 at Jacksonville. Glencoe won the other match, beating Jacksonville 25-20, 13-25, 15-10.

Alexandria’s top performers:

— Charlee Parris: nine kills, 10 digs, one ace.
— Zayley Mobbs: 10 kills, four digs, two aces.
— Sophie Martin: three kills, 50 assists, three digs, one block, four aces.
— Kylie Jeffers: 18 kills, three blocks, one ace.
— Cali Hess: six kills, two digs, one block, two aces.
— Landry Patterson: one kill, four assists, 21 digs.
— Caylin Adams: nine kills, four blocks.

CHEROKEE COUNTY SWEEPS: The Warriors swept a trimatch at Westbrook Christian to improve to 13-0 on the season, beating Westbrook Christian 25-12, 25-23 and Donoho 25-15, 25-15.

— Macy Lea: 36 assists, four kills, six digs, two aces.
— Ava Haygood: eight kills, six digs, three aces.
— Ellisan Givens: 18 digs, four aces, five assists.
