Talkin’ Alexandria

Ginn sees his latest team as in the Alexandria mold, and with potential for deep playoff run after two years of building something.

The package will include a video interview, interesting facts and Joe’s take for EA+ subscribers. Today’s visit: the Alexandria Valley Cubs.

ALEXANDRIA — In today’s era of player movement, special seasons can come with little buildup.

As Alexandria views the season ahead, Todd Ginn’s eighth as the Valley Cubs’ head coach, there’s a sense of something years in the making.

It started with that awful 1-9 Alexandria anomaly in 2023, a year after one of the program’s generational playmakers graduated and his potential successor transferred. The Valley Cubs started with a thud loss at Cherokee County, players quit and a young team got younger quickly.

Then came 2024, an 8-4 rebound that went two rounds into the playoffs and left Ginn and his team believing they could’ve gone deeper.

It’s 2025. Much of that team remains intact, just physically more mature and without hesitation that comes with inexperience.

Quotes, more details, interesting facts about Alexandria’s 2025 football team and a video interview are available for EA+ subscribers.
