GLENCOE — Returning to action after sitting out two matches, Donoho’s Anna Kate Wallace showed her rest was fruitful Thursday.
The senior Alabama-Huntsville signee scored four goals, and top-ranked Donoho downed Glencoe 5-1 in the state Class 1A-3A quarterfinals.
The Falcons advanced to the semifinals and will play the Collinsville-Madison Academy winner in Huntsville on Wednesday. Collinsville and Madison Academy will play Saturday.
Donoho (20-1) will make its fourth Final Four appearance. The Falcons lost to St. James in last year’s state final.
Wallace’s four goals Thursday bring her season total to 63. She broke Lily Wiedmer’s 2018 school record of 57 against Childersburg on April 18.
Samantha Wakefield scored Donoho’s other goal Thursday.
Donoho improved its season goals differential to 170-13.
