Saks facts

Things to know about Saks football heading into the 2026 season:

— Michael Easley enters his first season as Saks’ head coach. The former Wildcats’ offensive coordinator under then head coach Jonathan Miller returns after seven seasons as Munford’s head coach. He went 25-46 at Munford.

— Easley returns in very different times for Saks, which has gone 1-9, 2-8 and 1-9 under two head coaches since Miller left for Piedmont after the 2022 season.

— AHSAA realignment separated public and private schools for championship play and eliminated Class 7A, causing several schools to move down in classification. Saks moved down from Class ?A to 2A and aligns in Region 6 with Gaston, Ohatchee, Piedmont, Pleasant Valley, Vincent, Wellborn and West End-Walnut Grove.

— Key graduation losses from last year include the following All-Calhoun County players: QB/LB Delandas Allen, OL/DL Ja’Quay Judkins and DB Jakhari Monroe. 

— Key returnees to watch include all-county sophomore WR/DB Jayden Culpepper.
