White Plains facts

Things to know about White Plains  football heading into the 2026 season:

— Clint Smith enters his second season as White Plains’ head coach after the Wildcats finished 3-7 in 2025. It was his first losing season since his next to last Saks  team went 4-5 in 2010. He’s 165-101 in 25 years as a head coach overall, with stays at Trinity Christian, Saks, Jacksonville and White Plains.

— Key graduation losses from last year include the following All-Calhoun County players: OL/DL Logan Laube, DB/WR Hayden Barksdale, DB/WR Harlan Sudduth and K Bruce Downey. 

— Key returnees to watch include the following all-county players: senior WR Bryson Cheatwood, senior OL and North Carolina commit Hudson Inglasbe, senior QB Crew Martin, junior WR Will Graham, junior OL Kamari Fuller, junior LB Colby Jones, senior LB Caden Foster and senior LB Taylor Brown.

— AHSAA realignment separated public and private schools for championship play and eliminated Class 7A, causing several schools to move down in classification. White Plains moved down from Class 4A to Class 3A for the first time since 2013. The Wildcats align with Ashville, Childersburg, Cleburne County, Handley, Munford, Talladega and Weaver in Region 4.
