Grogan delivers walk-off hit as Pleasant Valley ends regular season with a victory. Ranburne tops Central-Clay.

Going around the horn with Thursday’s area softball action:
PLEASANT VALLEY 6, PIEDMONT 5: Charlee Grogan’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Raiders (20-24) the walk-off victory to end the regular season.
The hit scored Ellie Patterson, who led off the at bat with a single. Patterson also had an RBI, as did Abigail Evans.
Ellie-Kate Roper got the win, allowing three hits, no earned runs and no walks in two innings of relief.
Piedmont’s Cadence Buttram, Nakiya Bothwell, Kaelyn Greene and Kaylie Wood each had two hits and an RBI. Greene hit a double, and Ellie Tolbert had a single and an RBI.
RANBURNE 4, CENTRAL-CLAY 2: Two runs scored on an Addison Gibbs double in the top of the seventh inning put Ranburne up 4-1 and proved decisive.
Gibbs finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Rylann Graham went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Karoline Meadows went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
K.K. Rollins went 2-for-4 with a double and a run, and Carter Martin hit a triple and scored a run.
Central-Clay’s Chloe Morris hit a solo home run, and Ensleigh Giddens went 2-for-3 with a double. Analyssa Harris had a single and an RBI, and Blair Wheeler went 2-for-4 with a run.
