Inspired by former teammate Ledbetter, Weaver’s Reeves realizes dream to sign to play college golf.

WEAVER — J.C. Reeves is that rare high school kid who knew what he wanted for his life following high school long before he had his driver’s license.

He also had a trailblazer to show him how.

Inspired by former Weaver teammate Nick Ledbetter, Reeves became the second Bearcat golfer to sign to play the sport in college, signing Wednesday to play for Enterprise State Community College.

Reeve had his big moment in the Weaver High School library, two days after helping the Bearcats score their first-ever tournament victory in the Class 3A, Section 3 tournament at Silver Lakes.
