Hurst, White Plains’ boys win Chesley Oaks Invitational, plus copious portions of soccer, baseball and softball from around the area.

FAIRVIEW — Cam Hurst shot 5-under-par 67 to win medalist, and White Plains’ boys finished first in the Chesley Oaks Invitational on Tuesday.
The Wildcats shot a team total of 288, beating Lindsey Lane by 15 strokes. The tournament included 110 players.
White Plains’ Dison Durden shot 72 and finished third, and Wyatt Cotney shot 74 to finish fourth.
The team score factors in the top four individual scores, but two other Wildcats shot in the 70s … Ben Miller at 76 and Charlie Holder at 79.
The tournament victory in Fairview comes a week after White Plains emerged victorious in the Calhoun County Tournament.
Soccer
JACKSONVILLE GIRLS 3, LINCOLN 1: Playing without top goal scorer Emerson Weaver, the Golden Eagles got two goals from Lexi Page and one from Willa Kate Walker on the way to clinching a playoff berth.
Jacksonville (11-1) also got an assist apiece from Jayci Taylor, Stella Snyder and Emily Kim. Goalkeeper Sophie Snyder finished with seven saves.
LINCOLN 3, JACKSONVILLE 1: Jackson Patterson turned in a strong effort in goal with 12 saves, and Jack Thomas scored the team’s lone goal.
WHITE PLAINS GIRLS 6, CLEBURNE COUNTY 0: Layla Garcia scored six goals to surpass 100 career varsity goals, and the Wildcats picked up an area victory. She has 42 goals on the season.
Goalkeeper Brooksly Thielker recorded the shutout.
WEAVER BOYS 9, CHILDERSBURG 1: Weaver’s Joe Vines amassed seven goals. Gianluca Torres and Uli Lazcano had one goal apiece, and Lazcano contributed four assists.
Baseball
PIEDMONT 8, GLENCOE 2: Cole Austin went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Piedmont upped to 19-6 while winning its 14th consecutive area title.
Brenan Hurst went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Ben Dempsey went 2-for-4 with a run. Jaxson Howard went 1-for-2 with three runs and an RBI.
Austin got the win, allowing four hits, two earned runs and one walk with nine strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Crawford Mallett got the final out.
Glencoe’s Rogers had a single and two RBIs.
ALEXANDRIA 11, WHITE PLAINS 3: Brodie Baker and Caleb Frazier combined to hold White Plains to two hits, and Alexandria improved to 16-9.
Baker allowed two hits, three walks and one earned run with four strikeouts in six innings. Frazier pitched a perfect inning of relief with one strikeout.
Alexandria’s Cole Wheeler went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Garrett Haynes went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Cooper Smith went 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs, and Sawyer Coggins went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Jace Loggins had a double, a run and an RBI, and Jacob Slaton had two RBIs and a run.
White Plains’ Matthew Masson had a double and two RBIs.
TALLADEGA 16-4, ANNISTON 5-3: Anniston split an area doubleheader with Talladega to reach 2-7 on the season.
Anniston’s Cameron Williams had a single, a run and an RBI in the first game. Zamari Hawkins and Ha’raggi Harris each had a single and a run.
Hawkins and Walker each went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI in the second game, and Williams got the win, pitching a two hitter with 11 strikeouts.
CENTRAL-CLAY 10, SYLACAUGA 0: B Sprayberry pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and the Vols upped to 10-8.
J.T. Wilkerson went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs and three RBIs, and Sam Harris went 3-for-3 with a homer, two runs and two RBIs.
Hudson Foster went 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 10, CLEBURNE COUNTY 0: Cam Mayo pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts, and the Warriors upped to 12-11 while picking up an area victory.
Nate Black went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs, and Owen Jacoway went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Adam Griffith went 1-for-4 with two RBIs, and Case Hill went 2-for-3 with a run.
DESALES 13, DONOHO 3: Donoho’s Luke Farrell went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, but the Falcons fell to Louisville (Ky.) DeSales at Choccolocco Park. Owen Watts and Gager Church each had a single and a run.
GAYLESVILLE 17, FAITH CHRISTIAN 1: Faith’s C Martin went 2-for-3 with a run, and Tanner Smith had a double.
HANDLEY 8, MUNFORD 2: Aden Anthony went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run, and Handley improved to 15-7 while winning an area game.
Zae Dunson went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs, and Cordan Patterson went 2-for-4 with a run. Alex Busbin went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Cole Davis had a double, a run and an RBI.
Skylar Hester got the win, allowing eight hits with five strikeouts in five innings.
Munford’s Braydon Nichols, Aiden Harris and B.J. Anderson each had two hits. Bryson Cooper hit a double.
WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 13, HOKES BLUFF 2: Brodie Johnson went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, four RBIs and three runs, and Westbrook improved to 15-7 while picking up an area victory.
Brady Carden went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs. Brody Blevins had a double and three runs, and Emmett Daniel had a double and an RBI. Brady Ryan and Bo Kilgo had a single and an RBI apiece.
Daniel allowed four hits with eight strikeouts en route to the win.
Hokes Bluff’s Bray Bearden hit a solo home run, and Carson Peppers had a triple and an RBI.
HOPE CHRISTIAN 9-13, HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 7-2: Hope Christian swept a doubleheader to reach 12-6 on the season.
Caden Marturello had a triple, two RBIs and a run in the first game. Cayden Slick had a double, two RBIs and a run, and Kainen Bozeman went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a run.
Brody Ogles had a double and an RBI.
Kingston Eagle got the win, allowing seven hits with six strikeouts in seven innings.
Slick went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI in the second game, and Aziah Amberson went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run. Easton Strickland had a triple and two RBIs.
Trevor Ryals got the win, allowing six hits, two earned runs and three walks with four strikeouts.
SPRING GARDEN 16, JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 6: Ben Baker went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs, and Spring Garden improved to 11-10 While picking up an area win.
He also got the win, allowing six hits with 10 strikeouts over five innings.
Zane Edwards went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Joel Hunter went 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs.
Dawson Ellzey went 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs, and Hayes Guthrie went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs.
JCA’s Anthony Gooch went 3-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and a run. Grant Daffron had a double and two RBIs, and Bryson Dowdey went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
JACKSONVILLE 3, MOODY 2: Matthew Salmon pitched a complete game, allowing six hits with four strikeouts, and Jacksonville improved to 11-12.
Jackson Askew had a double, a run and an RBI, and Javian Fomby had a single and an RBI. John Ducar went 2-for-3 with a run.
OXFORD 13, SHADES VALLEY 0: Ayden Noyola and Canaan Whitman combined to hold Shades Valley to one hit, and Oxford (17-10) picked up an area win.
Noyola allowed one hit with three strikeouts in four innings. Whitman pitched a perfect inning of relief with two strikeouts.
Noyola also went 1-for-3 with four RBIs, and Marcus Lawler went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs. Whitman went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run.
Rocco Maniscalco had a single and two runs.
PLEASANT VALLEY 14, CEDAR BLUFF 5: Dixon Duncan went 1-for-3 with four RBIs and a run, and Pleasant Valley (14-5) got an area victory.
Cooper Dougal went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and three RBIs, and Dallas Roper went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run.
Landon Beason went 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
Roper pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing eight hits with nine strikeouts on the way to the win.
WEAVER 4, WELLBORN 2: Lyric Newman’s two-run single in the top of the ninth inning proved decisive, and Weaver (10-7) got an area victory. Tracen Jones had an RBI and a run.
Tucker Michaels went 3-for-5 with a double, and he got the win, allowing four hits with six strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings.
Wellborn’s Ashton Woodard had a double and an RBI, and 9 had a single and an RBI. Tanner Ingram struck out 13 batters and allowed three hits in eight innings.
Softball
CENTRAL-CLAY 9, SYLACAUGA 0: Lauryn Reed pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts, and the Vols improved to 8-13.
Soccara Lopez went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run, and Addie Wesley went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Ava Adams went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI, and B Wheeler went 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.
HANDLEY 21, REELTOWN 0: Handley pounded out 20 hits and improved to 9-10.
Breydan Watkins led the way, going 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBIs and three runs. Rayna Smith went 3-for-3 with a double, four runs and three RBIs. Makenzie McCain went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
Lily Sledge went 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs.
Milania Nunez went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and Claire Pike went 2-for-3, with two runs and two RBIs.
McCain allowed two hits in three innings.
RANBURNE 13, WADLEY 5: Rylann Graham went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, and Ranburne upped to 9-11.
Kamryn Jenkins went 2-for-4 with two RBIs., and Dakota Martin 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Kasen Hallman went 3-for-5 with three runs.
Peyton Smith went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
RANDOLPH COUNTY 6, CLEBURNE COUNTY 3: Emmy Maffeo went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Randolph County improved to 13-5.
Hannah Parmer went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Kyndahl Huckeba had a single, a run and an RBI, and Gracie Huckeba had a double and a run.
Abi Waters got the win, striking out 10 batters while spreading out nine hits in seven innings.
WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 9, CLAY-CHALKVILLE 8: Ava Tucker homered and had four RBIs, and the Warriors improved to 4-14. Brooklyn Stewart went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Avery Snead went 2-for-5 with two runs.
WOODLAND 22, WINTERBORO 0: Skylar Vann went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double with four runs and an RBI, and Woodland is 10-4-1.
Allie Puckett went 2-for-2 with three runs, and Maddie Fordham went 2-for-2 with a double and a run.
Puckett and Railey Williams combined to hold Winterboro to two hits. Puckett had four strikeouts, and Williams had one.
