White Plains’ girls win sixth consecutive tournament, and Alexandria’s Stokes takes medalist at Scottsboro Invitational.

SCOTTSBORO — Alexandria’s Jasmine Stokes shot 73 to finish as medalist, and White Plains’ girls got their sixth consecutive tournament victory in the Scottsboro Invitational on Monday.
Stokes and White Plains are coming off of medalist and championship finishes in last week’s Calhoun County Tournament.
Fort Payne’s Molly Griffith finished second at 79. White Plains’ Maylee Stewart and Cameron McElroy tied with Boaz’s Emma Jones for third place at 82.
White Plains’ Aubree Cobb also scored at 85, and the Wildcats shot 249 to edge Fort Payne by one stroke. Madelyn Faulkner shot 89.
Alexandria got a 94 from Alana Prickett and 107 from Olivia Carpenter and finished third at 274.
Baseball
WEAVER 14, FAITH CHRISTIAN 1: Tracen Jones went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs, and Weaver improved to 9-7.
Tucker Michaels went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs, and Peyton Andrews went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run. Elijjah Wills had a single and two RBIs. Zane Hairrell added a single and an RBI.
Connor Hyatt got the win, allowing one hit with one strikeout in 2 1/3 innings.
Faith’s Tanner Smith had a single and an RBI, and Sam Ricard had a single and a run,
HANDLEY 16-16, TALLADEGA 0-0: Handley won two area games in a combined six innings to improve to 14-7.
Hayden Hare allowed no hits with five strikeouts in the first game. Aden Anthony went 2-for-2 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs, and Cordan Patterson went 1-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run.
The Tigers got two RBIs apiece from Zae Dunson and Skylar Hester, and Luke Murr had a single, two runs and an RBI.
Dunson and Patterson combined to allow no hits with five strikeouts in three innings in the second game. Anthony went 1-for-1 with three runs and three RBIs, and Dunson went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Owen Gabriel and Isaiah Culbertson each had a single and an RBI.
HOPE CHRISTIAN 4, HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 1: Kingston Eagle hit a solo home run and scored two runs, and the Saints reached 10-6 on the season. Liam Avery added a single and an RBI.
Aziah Amberson pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts.
Softball
CENTRAL-CLAY 6, CHILDERSBURG 5: Addie Wesley’s RBI single in the top of the seventh inning stood up as the winning hit, and the Vols upped to 7-13. She finished 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Blair Wheeler went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run, and Lily McCain went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Ava Adams had a single, a run and an RBI.
Blair Wheeler got the win, allowing four hits, no walks and no earned runs with two strikeouts.
GLENCOE 9, CEDAR BLUFF 7: Evelyn Nowak went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Glencoe upped to 8-11. Kynsley Freeman also went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Riley Brothers went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Zowie Morris had a single, a run and an RBI.
Freeman got the win, allowing four hits, four walks and no earned runs with three strikeouts.
MUNFORD 12, TALLADEGA 0: Brooklyn Pressley and B Haygood pitched a combined no-hitter, and Munford upped to 22-6. Pressley had nine strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings, and Haygood had three in 1 1/3 innings.
Pressley went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs, and Madison Arnold went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI.
Chloe Prickette went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Ashtyn Bishop went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run. Addyson Britt went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Jena Gaither went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
