Hurst, White Plains take second at Cross Creek. Donoho tennis sweeps Indian Springs, plus all of the baseball and softball Mother Nature would allow Monday.

Going around the horn in Monday’s prep baseball and softball, cross court in tennis and down the fairway in golf:

Golf

CROSS CREEK: White Plains’ Cam Hurst shot 70 to finish second, and the Wildcats shot 319 to finish second, five strokes behind Homewood.

Priceville’s Drei Netherton shot 69 to win by one stroke. 

White Plains’ Ben Miller shot 83, Dison Durdenn 83, Wyatt Cotney 84 and J.T. McEllroy 93.

Weaver finished ninth at 336. John Curtis Reeves led the Bearcats with a 78, followed by Easton Capps at 82, Dylan Brown at 87, Caden Watts at 89 and Colton Davis at 97.

Tennis

DONOHO SWEEPS: Donoho’s girls beat Indian Springs 9-0, and the boys won 7-2.

Donoho’s girls got singles victories from No. 1 Avery Barnett, No. 2 Natalie Rodgers, No. 3 Claire Tollison, No. 4 Elizabeth Downey, No. 5 Bentlee Pahman and No. 6 Sydney Marsh.

The No. 1 doubles team of Barnett-Rodgers, No. 2 Tollison-Downey and No. 3 Pahman-Marsh also won.

For Donoho’s boys, No. 1 Rishi Reddy, No. 2 Ethan Crawford, No. 3 Foster Payton and No, 5 Aiden Thompson won singles matches. No. 1 Crawford-Payton, No. 2 Reddy-Thompson and No. 3 Chris Perkins-J.R. Sobers swept doubles matches.

Baseball

CENTRAL-CLAY 12, RANBURNE 3: Gabe Harris went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs, and Central-Clay improved to 5-3.

Kaiden Glenn went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and the Vols got two RBIs apiece from Hudson Foster and Braden Sprayberry. J.T. Wilkerson went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Foster got the win, allowing three hits, three earned runs and three walks with one strikeouts.

Ranburne’s Carter Loren had a single and an RBI, and Logan Carter had a single, a run and an RBI.

RANDOLPH COUNTY 11, DONOHO 4: Randolph County’s Bryant Lee went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Ryder Pinson 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI.

Rhett Huddleston went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Sawyer Hester went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Payton got the win, allowing four hits, one earned run and one walk with two strikeouts in two innings.

Donoho’s Luke Farrell went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs and an RBI, and Sam Montgomery went 2-for-2.

FAITH CHRISTIAN 7, ANNISTON 0: Faith’s Paul Kaiser went 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and Levi Wells went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI.

Canden Martin got the win, allowing one hit and four walks with six strikeouts in three innings. Asher Ray allowed one hit and no walks with four strikeouts in three innings.

Anniston got a since apiece from Zamari Hawkins and Ciandre Walker.

Softball

CLEBURNE COUNTY 13, WEAVER 0: Macey East pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts in four innings, and Cleburne County improved to 4-9.

Emma Williamson went 3-for-4 with a triple, four RBIs and a run, and Lilah Robinson went 4-for-4 with a double, four runs and an RBI. Alred went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Claire Humphries had a double, a run and an RBI.

Weaver’s Maddie Stanford hit a double.
