Faith Christian and Ranburne boys, Alexandria girls advance in area-tournament play. Ranburne, Alexandria clinch sub-regional berths.

Area tournaments geared up Friday night. Here’s a look at Friday’s action and what it means:
Class 1A, Area 12 boys
FAITH CHRISTIAN 64, GAYLESVILLE 19: Parker Robertson scored 26 points, including three 3-pointers, and Faith advanced in the Class 1A, Area 12 tournament.
The Lions advance to the semifinal round and will play host Jacksonville Christian on Saturday at 7 p.m. The winner will clinch a sub-regional berth.
Gaylesville is eliminated.
Faith also got 19 points from Colin Anderson, who also hit three 3-pointers. Joshia Scott’s nine points included two 3-pointers.
Class 2A, Area 8 boys
RANBURNE 39, VINCENT 38: Bentley Morgan led the way with 14 points, and Ranburne clinched a sub-regional berth while advancing to Monday’s 6 p.m. championship game against host Central-Coosa.
Aiden Whitman added 11 points, and Seth McAdams scored all eight of his points in the second half.
Class 4A, Area 12 girls
ALEXANDRIA 59, CLEBURNE COUNTY 18: LaNajia Redwine scored 15 points, and Alexandria advanced to Monday’s championship game while clinching a sub-regional berth.
The Valley Cubs will play host Cherokee County on Monday at 5 p.m. Cleburne County is eliminated.
Kate Wheeler hit two 3-pointers on the way to 11 points. Charlee Parris added nine points.
Emma Williamson paced Cleburne County with eight points.
Class 2A, Area 13 girls
SAND ROCK 83, PLEASANT VALLEY 26: Molly Grace Lay hit six 3-pointers on the way to 23 points, and Sand Rock advanced to Monday’s 7 p.m. championship game against Saturday’s winner between Gaston and Cedar Bluff.
Pleasant Valley was eliminated.
Maddie Clanton scored 18 points, and Kaylee Burns added 15, including two 3-pointers.
Hanna Henry led Pleasant Valley with 10 points.
