Lewis leads way as Anniston boys clinch right to play host to area tournament. White Plains, Piedmont, Munford boys, Donoho’s girls victorious.

ANNISTON — Kyree Lewis scored a game-high 21 points, and Anniston’s boys downed visiting Talladega 96-42 to clinch the right to play host to the Class 4A, Area 8 tournament.

The Bulldogs (13-6) also got 18 points from T.J. Davis, who hit four 3-pointers. Kyron Marlbrough and Tariq Judkins added 12 points apiece, and Jakorie Carr added 11.

Jaden Curry led Talladega with nine points.

WHITE PLAINS 61, FAITH CHRISTIAN 44: Bryson Cheatwood led the way with 17 points, and White Plains improved to 17-11.

Will Graham added 11 points, and Bruce Downey scored 10.

Faith’s Parker Robertson scored a game-high 19 points,

PIEDMONT 56, SAND ROCK 53: Rollie Pinto scored 20 points, including three 3-pointers, and Piedmont improved to 17-11.

Nick Glover added 13 points, including two 3-pointers.

Sand Rock’s Jonas Browder hit two 3-pointers on the way to 21 points, and Will Cleere added 20.

MUNFORD 61, PLEASANT VALLEY 25: Marquell Johnson hit three 3-pointers on the way to 16 points, and Munford improved to 17-6. 

Josh Smith’s 14 points included two 3-pointers, and Kendarius Hickman hit three 3-pointers while scoring 13 points.

Pleasant Valley got eight points apiece from Cooper Dougal and Brody Barnwell.

Girls

SAND ROCK 47, PIEDMONT 38: Maddie Clanton hit two 3-pointers on the way to 21 points, and Sand Rock emerged victorious.

Molly Grace Lay added 10 points.

Piedmont’s Amiyah Thomas scored 14 points, and Na’Kia Bothwell added 10.

DONOHO 32, WELLBORN 16: Maddie Shute led the way with `12 points, and Bentlee Pahman added 10. Each player hit one 3-pointer. Janiyah White paced Wellborn with six points.
