Perry hits nine 3-pointers in Oxford’s area victory. Piedmont’s boys overcome eight 3-pointers from Ohatchee’s Carroll. White Plains boys, Pleasant Valley boys, Anniston boys, Weaver’s girls, Ranburne’s girls victorious. JCA sweeps.

OXFORD — Marcus Perry Jr. had the hot hand to Oxford’s boys Tuesday, to say the least.

Perry hit nine 3-pointers on the way to 33 points, and Oxford beat Pell City 87-55 in Class 6A, Area 11 play.

The fifth-ranked Yellow Jackets improved to 16-4, 2-0 in area play.

Perry’s big game backed up his 19-point showing in Saturday’s area opener, a 70-41 victory over No. 2 Shades Valley.

Perry hit six of his 3-pointers in the first half, two each in the first and second quarters.

Caileb Wilson added 15 points, and Jaylen Alexander hit two 3-pointers on the way to 14 points. Chris Latson scored eight of his 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Pell City’s Brody Gossett hit three 3-pointers while scoring 16 points, and Brenon Saulter added 11 points.

WHITE PLAINS 54, JACKSONVILLE 45: Bryson Cheatwood led four White Plains players in double figures with 13 points, and White Plains improved to 15-7.

Will Graham added 12 points, including two 3-pointers. Harmon Cobb scored 11 points, and Crew Martin’s 10 points included two 3-pointers.

Ben Pridgen paced Jacksonville, scoring 14 of his 15 points in the second half. He also had five rebounds and three assists.

Mason Scoggins added 11 points and five rebounds, including two 3-pointers, and Braylon Kelley scored nine points.

PLEASANT VALLEY 60, WEAVER 52: Braxton Salster turned in 12 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and two steals, and Pleasant Valley improved to 11-6 overall, 3-2 in Class 2A, Area 13.

Jake Barnwell added 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Greer Laros also scored 12 points, hitting four of six 3-point shots.

Brody Barnwell added 10 points, and Jameson Humphrey finished with eight. 

Weaver’s D.J. Marbury and John Curtis Reeves finished with 12 points apiece. 

ANNISTON 36, MUNFORD 34: Kyree Lewis hit three 3-pointers on the way to 14 points, and Class 4A, No. 8 Anniston improved to 8-5, 3-1 in 4A, Area 8.

No. 9 Munford fell to 12-5, 2-3 area.

Tariq Judkins added eight points.

Marquell Johnson led Munford with 10 points, and Joshua Smith added eight.

PIEDMONT 74, OHATCHEE 57: Ben Dempey hit two 3-pointers on the way to 17 points, and Class 3A, No. 7 Piedmont improved to 12-4 overall, 3-1 in Class 3A, Area 12.

Mason Morrow added 15 points, including three 3-pointers, and Nick Glover’s 13 points included two 3-pointers.

Eli Johnson added nine points.

It all helped Piedmont to overcome a 33-point outburst by Ohatchee’s Alston Carroll, who hit eight 3-pointers. Chris West’s 11 points included three 3-pointers.

The two teams combined to hit 20 3-pointers, with Ohatchee hitting 13.

JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 71, DONOHO 59: Noah Lee and Bryson Dowdey had it going Tuesday, as JCA improved to 10-7, 3-3 in Class 1A, Area 12.

Lee led the way with 26 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, and Dowdey’s output featured 23 points and five rebounds.

Wil Hudson added 16 points. 

Girls

JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 57, DONOHO 30: Mollie Mullinax turned in 21 points, eight steals, six rebounds and three assists, and JCA upped to 13-1 overall, 6-0 in Class 1A, Area 12.

Addy Lee added 14 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and six steals. Sophie Williams’ 10 points came with seven rebounds and four steals, and Modasti Carr added 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Donoho got eight points from Taylor Worley and seven from Kate Williamon.

RANBURNE 59, SPRING GARDEN 32: Maranda Ralston scored 20 points, hitting 11 of 12 free throws and one 3-pointer, and Class 2A No. 8 Ranburne improved to 17-6.

Tinley Phillips added 11 points, and Kallie Burson’s 10 points included two 3-pointers.

Spring Garden’s Lacie McMurray scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers.

PIEDMONT 67, OHATCHEE 33: Kenzie Prater led the way with 16 points, and Piedmont improved to 9-10 overall, 2-3 in Class 3A, Area 12.

Na’kiya Bothwell added 15 points, and Sophie Clausen’s 10 points included three 3-pointers.

Ohatchee’s Payten Walker scored a game-high 20 points, and Emily Riddle added eight.

WEAVER 44, PLEASANT VALLEY 24:  Aaliyah Marks hit four 3-pointers on the way to 19 points, and Weaver rolled to victory.

Weaver’s Kimora Miles sank four 3-pointers while scoring 15 points.

Hanna Henry paced Pleasant Valley with seven points, featuring two 3-pointers. Lilly Robinson added six points.
