Weaver’s boys, girls clinch area hosting rights. JCA sweeps Gaylesville, and Donoho sweeps Wellborn. Alexandria splits with Ashville. PV, Spring Garden boys victorious.

WEAVER — D.J. Marbury poured in 32 points, and Weaver’s boys beat Randolph County 62-43 on Thursday to clinch the right to play host to the Class 3A, Area 9 tournament.
Marbury hit eight of 12 free throws and two 30-pointers.
Junior Allen added nine points, and Phoxton Benjamin added eight to go with ?? rebounds.
Mo Winston led Randolph County with 12 points.
PLEASANT VALLEY 54, COOSA CHRISTIAN 27: Jake Barnwell contributed 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, and Pleasant Valley improved to 9-6 overall, 2-2 area.
Braxton Salster added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Jameson Humphrey added nine points and four steals. Peyton Mann scored seven points.
SPRING GARDEN 57, FAITH CHRISTIAN 42: Eric Rule scored 10 of his team-high 13 points in the third quarter, and Spring Garden picked up an area win.
Brody Bostick’s 11 points included three 3-pointers, and Brody Lemons scored 11 points. Brady Ruark added nine points.
Parker Robertson led Faith with 14 points. Dylan Rogers’ 10 points included three 3-pointers, and three 3-pointers accounted for Joshua Scott’s nine points.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 61, GAYLESVILLE 29: Anthony Gooch led JCA (9-7) with 16 points and three steals.
Bryson Dowdey had 11 points and four assists, and Noah Lee scored 10 points to go with a team-high eight rebounds and four assists.
DONOHO 71, WELLBORN 48: Ethan Crawford led the way with 16 points, and Donoho downed Wellborn.
Bryant Whitney added 14 points. Carson Chandler and Hartwell Church scored 10 apiece, with Church hitting two 3-pointers.
Wellborn got 15 points apiece from Justus Williams and Marese Traylor.
ASHVILLE 74, ALEXANDRIA 64: J.B. Potter scored a game-high 25 points, including two 3-pointers, and Ashville won at Alexandria.
Parker Smith scored 20 points, and Dalton Rice-Thompson added 11 points.
Alexandria’s Cole Wheeler poured in 24 points, including two 3-pointers. Ryan Lewis and Russell Trantham added eight points apiece, with Lewis hitting two 3-pointers.
Girls
WEAVER 42, RANDOLPH COUNTY 9: Aliyah Marks led the way with 21 points, including two 3-pointers, and Weaver improved to 5-0 in 3A, Area 9 play while earning the right to place host to the area tournament.
Weaver also got 11 points from Charice Diamond, who also hit two 3-pointers.
Hannah Parmer led Randolph County with five points.
ALEXANDRIA 67, ASHVILLE 41: Ella Harper led a balanced effort by Alexandria with 12 points, including two 3-pointers.
The Valley Cubs also got 11 points apiece from Zoey Wilson, LaNajia Redwine and Kate Wheeler. Wilson and Wheeler hit three 3-pointers apiece.
Charlee Parris added 10 points.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 56, GAYLESVILLE 22: Mollie Mullinax led three JCA players in double figures with 13 points, and the Thunder improved to 12-1.
She also had six steals, three assists and three rebounds.
Addy Lee turned in 12 points, eight assists and five steals, and Audrina Williams scored 10 points to go with three steals.
DONOHO 53, WELLBORN 26: Bentlee Pahman celebrated her 17th birthday with a sweet 16 points, and Donoho emerged victorious.
She also had four assists and three rebounds.
Taylor Worley added 13 points and four rebounds, and Kate Williamon added 12 points. Maddie Shute contributed nine.
Wellborn’s Molly Junior scored 14 points.
