Romano clutch as Oxford boys edge Jonesboro for eighth consecutive win. Anniston, White Plains victorious in Christmas tourneys. Oxford girls win in OT.

JASPER — Cooper Romano hit a putback at the buzzer, and Oxford’s boys downed Jonesboro (Ga.) 54-52 on Saturday in the City of Jasper Christmas Classic.
The game-winning putback was Romano’s lone bucket of the game, and Oxford (11-3) ran its winning streak to eight games.
Jaylen Alexander led the Yellow Jackets with 23 points, hitting 14 of 17 free throws. Marcus Perry Jr. hit two 3-pointers on the way to 10 points.
ANNISTON 68, BALDWIN COUNTY 64: Playing in the Hewitt Trussville Husky Christmas Invitational, Anniston’s Kyrie Lewis hit three 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 36 points.
Kaden Brown finished with 20 points, hitting four 3-pointers along the way, and Jakorie Carr added 12 points.
WHITE PLAINS 49, WESTBROOK CHRISTIAN 38: Playing in Hokes Bluff’s Patrick Ball Christmas Tournament, Bryson Cheatwood hit three 3-pointers on the way to 25 points to lead White Plains.
Will Graham added 16 points, including two 3-pointers.
Brady Carden paced Westbrook Christian with 12 points, and Case Burton’s 10 points included two 3-pointers.
Girls
OXFORD 54, SAND ROCK 50 (OT): Takayvia Boyd led the way with 16 points, and Oxford’s girls came away victorious.
MiKynlei Mosley added 15 points for the Yellow Jackets, and Bri Wilson scored 10.
Sand Rock’s Maddie Clanton scored a game-high 17 points, and Hadlie Weaver hit three 3-pointers on the way to 12 points.
