WELLBORN — Weaver wrestlers won three weight classes, and the Bearcats finished second in the Lamar Wade Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
Weaver had 152 points. Oak Grove won with 206.
Weaver’s Haiden Hise (138 pounds), Dylan Brown (165) and Gianluca Torres (175) won their weight classes. Zach Hooks (215) took second, Isaac Overton (144) third and Peyton Andrews (132) fourth.
Other weight-class winners included White Plains’ James Heard (157) and Hudson Ingalsbe (285).
Led by runner-up finishes by Owen Young (126) and Tyler Primeaux (105), Cleburne County finished fifth with 132.5 points.
White Plains also got a runner-up finish from Wesley Beebe (165) and finished sixth with 103.5 points, and Carter Driver (120) led Ranburne to seventh place with 97 points.
Wellborn (57.5) took 10th, Saks (31) was 14th and Cherokee County (19.5) was 18th.
Girls
WEAVER: Ariel Sargent won the 138-pound bracket, and the Bearcats won the Brookwood Lady Panther Brawl.
Weaver also got runner-up finishes from Josie Gochenouer (107), Jaylee Carter (120) and Ashlyn Coleman (132).
Sarah Gokey (100) and Heaven Bishop (185) finished third. Caitlyn Edmondson (145) and Jaylyn Medley (165).
Weaver won with 258 points over Central-Phenix City (203).
