Too much Crowell and too much Jackson as Anniston falls in first state-final appearance since 1994.

BIRMINGHAM — Anniston won its first 14 games this season and earned the right to be the next to try against powerhouse Jackson in the Super 7.
Jackson did Jackson things.
E.J. Crowell rushed for 304 yards and five touchdowns on 25 carries, the the Aggies won their second consecutive Class 4A state title, 52-0, in Protective Stadium.
Crowell rushed for touchdowns of one, two, 56, 56 and 47 yards.
Running back Jabari Williams led Anniston with 66 yards on 16 carries before leaving the action with an apparent concussion in the third quarter.
Anniston made its first state-final appearance since winning the Class 6A state title in 1994 and came home with the “red map” runner-up trophy.

Jackson-Anniston updates
–Kickoff 11 a.m.
–Anniston to receive opening kickoff.
FIRST QUARTER
–On third down and four, Damon Pope rolls right, cuts up, gets hit and fumbles. Jackson recovers at Anniston’s 28.
–After E.J. Crowell drags a defender to the 2, he breaks several tackles on the way to a 2-yard TD run bat 9:48. He also trots in for the conversion run. JACKSON 8, ANNISTON 0
–Anniston stops Crowell on third down and 2 then stuffs QB Landon Duckworth on fourth and 1, will take over at Anniston’s 16.
SECOND QUARTER
–Crowell completes an 80-yard drive with a 47-yard TD run at 9:56. PAT pending as play is reviewed to see if Crowell got into the end zone before knee touched. TD reversed, Crowell ruled down at the 1. … He scores on the next play around left end at 9:43. Duckworth keeps for the conversion. JACKSON 16, ANNISTON 0
–Jabari Williams runs to the right side have been a good play for Anniston all day, but if they get behind the sticks and have to try a run/pass option, Jackson has too much speed on the edges for Damon Pope scrambles.
—Crowell breaks a 56-yard TD run at 1:34. Defensive lineman A.J. Hayes runs for the conversion. JACKSON 24, ANNISTON 0
–Anniston has everybody up for the run, so Crowell is on the Barry Sanders plan … short run, short run, short run, break one. When he breaks the line, he’s gone.
–After J’Quell Armstrong’s tipped-ball interception, Duckworth throws a 26-yard, jump-ball TD pass to Keeyun Chapman at 0:02. Conversion fails. JACKSON 30, ANNISTON 0
THIRD QUARTER
–Jackson’s Dacorious Jackson fumbles after catching a pass, and Anniston’s Malachi Hall recovers at Jackson’s 46.
–Jackson’s Victor Darrington intercepts a Pope pass, and Jackson takes over at its 44. Crowell hesitates to let the hole develop, then breaks a 56-yard TD run at 9:04. Duckworth throws to Laquan Whisenhunt for the conversion. JACKSON 38, ANNISTON 0
–Crowell has 205 yards on 12 carries with four TDs.
–Anniston’s Jabari Williams helped off of the field at 8:42, looks woosy.
–Chapman with a 78-yard punt return for a TD at 6:36. Looks as though Anniston players thought he made a fair catch. PAT is good. JACKSON 45, ANNISTON 0
–Jackson’s Aaden Martin with an interception at Jackson’s 20, returns to Anniston’s 42.
–After a 5-yard penalty, Crowell breaks a 47-yard TD run at 0:55. Champ Burnett hits the PAT. JACKSON 52, ANNISTON 0
–Make it 13 carries for 252 yards for Crowell, 5 TDs. He’s averaging 19.4 yards a carry.
FOURTH QUARTER
FINAL: Jackson wins 52-0.
