OXFORD — A special recognition preceded Oxford’s home trimatch against Pleasant Valley and Donoho on Tuesday.
The Yellow Jackets celebrated a major milestone for senior setter Payton Brooks, who surpassed 4,000 career assists Sept. 18.
Oxford coach Wendy McKibbin surprised Brooks with a pregame presentation.
“Honestly, I was so surprised!” Brooks said. “I had no idea they were going to recognize me tonight, and it meant so much to share that moment with my teammates, coaches, friends and family.
“Reaching over 4,000 assists is something I never really thought about when I started playing. I just love setting up my teammates and helping our team succeed. I’m really thankful for everyone who’s been part of this journey and supported me along the way. It was such a special night I’ll never forget.”
