OXFORD — Top seed Alexandria and No. 3 Piedmont stand one victory away from the Calhoun County softball finals.

Alexandria beat No. 5 Oxford 4-1 on Tuesday, and Piedmont beat No. 2 White Plains 2-1 to reach the winners’ bracket final. They’ll play Thursday at 3 p.m.

Oxford, White Plains, No. 4 Ohatchee and No. 6 Pleasant Valley remain alive in the elimination bracket and would have to win three times Thursday to reach Friday’s final at Choccolocco Park.

Here’s a rundown of Tuesday’s action.

Winners bracket

PIEDMONT 2, WHITE PLAINS 1: Cayla Brothers’ two-run home run in the third inning made the difference, and Savannah Smith pitched a four-hitter with three strikeouts in five innings.

Callie Richardson had two of White Plains’ four hits, including a double, and Carli Fritts had a single and RBI. Fritts also struck out 10 batters and allowed three hits in five innings.

ALEXANDRIA 4, OXFORD 1: Alexandria scored all four of its runs in the third inning, including Pressley Slaton’s two-run double. Allyssa Hunt hit an RBI single, and Charlee Parris’ sacrifice fly brought home a run.

Slaton pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts in five innings, and Christian Hess went 2-for-3 and scored a run.

Oxford’s Kaelyn Crossley had a single and an RBI, and Emma Tims-Becerra went 2-for-3.

Elimination bracket

OHATCHEE WINS TWO: The Indians beat Anniston 7-1 and Weaver 6-3 to stay alive.

Jordyn Faulkner allowed one hit with two strikeouts in three innings against Anniston, and Peyton Walker allowed one hit and no earned runs with two strikeouts in two innings.

Mackenzie Luna had a single and three RBIs, and Reese Steward had a single and two RBIs.

Luna had a single and two RBIs against Weaver, and the Indians got a single and RBI apiece from Breanna Martin, Savannah Reaves and Gracelynn Reed.

PLEASANT VALLEY WINS TWO: The Raiders beat Wellborn 11-1 and Jacksonville 11-4 on Tuesday.

Lily Henry and Halie Lee combined to allow Wellborn three hits, and Gracee Ward went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Alexa Cranmer and Lilly Robinson had a single and two RBIs apiece., and Cailey Almaroad went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.

Pleasant Valley also got a single and RBI apiece from Madyson Cromer, Lee and Aubree Cromer.

Madyson Cromer hit a two-run home run while going 3-for-3 with a run and six RBIs against Jacksonville. She also had two doubles.

Cranmer went 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs, and Henry was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI.

Henry and Lee held Jacksonville to five hits.
