Because of rain and more in the forecast, Calhoun County baseball final, scheduled for tonight, postponed to March 15 on Rudy Abbott Field

JACKSONVILLE — Organizers have postponed tonight’s Calhoun County baseball final between top seed Oxford and No. 2 Alexandria to March 15 on Jacksonville State University’s Rudy Abbott Field, Wellborn High School principal Andy Carpenter said.

The game was scheduled for 6 p.m. on Jacksonville State University’s Rudy Abbott Field.

The postponement came because of rain and more in the forecast. Weather.com’s hourly forecast for Jacksonville calls for a 77 percent chance of rain at 6 p.m. and at least a 41 percent chance until 10 p.m.

The new date was set after organizers consulted with JSU officials and principals for the two schools involved in the county final.
