GLENCOE – Alex Odam scored 17 of his game-high 30 points in the first quarter and teamed with Luke Bussey for nine 3-pointers in the game as Piedmont bounced back from its last-second overtime loss in its last game to beat Glencoe 75-44 Thursday night.

Bussey scored 17 points in the game. He was 5-of-9 from behind the arc and 6-of-10 overall in the game. Odom was 4-of-8 from 3-point range, 13-of-21 overall. The Bulldogs (3-2) hit 11 3-pointers in the game.

Odam also had five steals and seven assists. 

with his big night, Odam moved past Taylor Hayes and Darnell Jackson for fourth place on Piedmont’s all-time scoring list. With 1,398 points, he needs 289 to pass Danny Bryan (1964-67) as the Bulldogs’ all-time leading scorer.

In the girls game, Ava Pope scored nine of her 18 points in the second quarter while the Lady Bulldogs held Glencoe without a field goal to open a 16-point halftime lead on the way to a 48-29 victory. Jaycee Glover had five assists for Piedmont in the game.

It was an historic victory. According to the best records available, it was the Lady Bulldogs’ fifth win over Glencoe all-time (5-39).

SPRING GARDEN — Sarah Kate McKay led three scorers in double figures with 15 points as Spring Garden avenged a season-opening loss than snapped a 25-game winning streak, beating Oxford 57-44.

Neely Welsh had 14 points and Lexy Adkison added 10. Abbey Steward scored nine on three third-quarter 3-pointers. Xia Whitfield and Lisa Montgomery had 13 points apiece for Oxford.
