TALLADEGA – Ayanna Foster scored 24 points and all-tournament teammate Jordan Sabree scored six crucial points down the stretch as Sacred Heart’s girls got back on the winning track and beat Talladega County Central 54-51 Friday for third place in the TCC Christmas Tournament.

Foster, Sabree and Myiah Harris all made the all-tournament team for the Lady Cardinals (10-1), who bounced back after losing to Childersburg the day before in a semifinal battle of unbeatens. Sabree finished with nine points in the consolation game, going 5-for-7 from the free throw line, and Harris had 12.

Earlier in the day, Brooke Perry scored in double figures for the fourth time in five games and was one of three Pleasant Valley players to score 15 points as the Lady Raiders came from behind to top Talladega 57-46.

“She’s been a huge factor for us offensively; we’ve needed that,” PV coach Brad Hood said of Perry. “She’s figured out how to play physical.”

Chandler Dorsett and Emma Hood also had 15 apiece for PV. They were especially strong in the second half when the Lady Raiders rallied from a 26-22 halftime deficit with Dorsett scoring 12 and Hood scoring 13.

The Lady Raiders were also 20-for-26 from the foul line, 15-of-18 in the second half.
