PIEDMONT – Pleasant Valley followed winning the Sandy Hunter Invitational over the weekend with a pair of regular-season victories Monday night over Piedmont and Cleburne County.

The Lady Raiders beat Piedmont in an area match 25-8, 25-19, 25-13 and Cleburne County 25-20, 25-10.

Savannah Williams had 22 kills and 13 digs for PV (23-7) in the two matches. Blakely Malsy had 11 kills, four aces, 11 digs and three blocks. Karmyn Sparks had 14 kills and a .650 hitting percentage. Rylee Hayne had 36 assists and seven aces.

Oxford wins two, reaches 20

OXFORD – Oxford scored a pair of straight-set victories over Weaver and Clay Chalkville, reaching the 20-win plateau for the season and running its record against in-county opponents this year to 8-0.

The Lady Jackets beat Weaver 25-16, 25-16 and Clay Chalkville 25-17, 25-12.

Tanyia McDonald and Shania Vincent each had six kills against Clay Chalkville. Vincent had eight kills against Weaver, six in the second set, while McDonald and Lakijah Brown had seven each. Emma Connell had 24 assists against Weaver, 36 in the two matches.

Alexandria sweeps

Kendal Bumpus had 17 kills to surpass 200 for the season, and Kayleigh Steen and Anna Johnson combined for 32 assists as Alexandria defeated Donoho and Westbrook Christian.

The Lady Cubs (17-10) beat Donoho 25-14, 25-18 and Westbrook 25-7, 25-19.

Madison Chastain had five kills in the Donoho match and Steen had 11 assists against Westbrook. Madison Wallace and Jordan Beason each had five aces against Westbrook.
