Jacksonville facts

Things to know about Jacksonville football heading into the 2026 season:

— Jeremy Sullivan enters his second season as Jacksonville’s head coach and his 12th season as a head coach overall, including stints at Citronelle and Boaz. Jacksonville went 6-6 in his first season, falling to Fairview in the second round of the playoffs. He’s 57-64 overall.

— AHSAA realignment separated public and private schools for championship play and eliminated Class 7A, causing several schools to move down in classification. Jacksonville moved down from Class 5A to 4A and aligned in Region 6 with Alexandria, Anniston, Central-Clay, Leeds, Lincoln, Moody and Sylacauga.

— Key graduation losses from 2025 include the following All-Calhoun County players: OL Ben Pridgen, LB Shannon Noel, LB/WR/PR Bryce Allen, K John Ducar, OL Demauri Sigler, DL Jack Dingler, LB Trenton Jackson, DB Zay Moore and QB/DB Kamouri Harmon.

— Key returnees include the following All-Calhoun County players: senior RB Jaden Jones, senior DL Jeremiah Hawkins, freshman DL Landon Goodwin, senior WR/DB Qua McNeal, freshman DB/QB Kelvin Huguley, senior TE/DL Jack Kadle, senior DL Quinton Atkins, junior DB Carson Jenkins and senior RB/WR P.J. Holloway.

—  Other players to watch include senior QB Cross Land, who transferred from Auburn High School. Senior H Marquel Wood returns after sustaining a season-ending injury against Alexandria last season.
