PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Rocco Maniscalco, Oxford

Oxford’s Rocco Maniscalco is East Alabama Sports Today’s choice as Class 4A-6A All-Calhoun County player of the year. The Mississippi State signee batted .330 with a .506 on-base percentage, .606 slugging percentage, four home runs, 39 RBIs. He also drew 41 talks and stole 45 bases in 47 attempts. Piedmont’s Cole Austin is East Alabama Sports Today’s choice as Class 1A-3A Calhoun County player of the year. He batted .379 with a .513 on-base percentage, 15 doubles, one home run and 41 RBIs. He also went 11-1 on the mound with a 2.44 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 97 strikeouts and 11 walks in 77 1/3 innings, helping the Bulldogs reach the Class 3A semifinals.
