OXFORD — Westbrook Christian has won lots of ways through its run to the Class 4A championship baseball series, but pressure is constant.

The Warriors’ pressure burst Bibb County’s pipes in Tuesday’s Game 1.

Balls in play and aggressive base running contributed to Bibb County committing five errors, and Westbrook Christian added four unearned runs to nine earned runs to get through Game 1 in five innings, 13-3, at Choccolocco Park.

Game 2 is Wednesday at 10 a.m. on Jax State’s Rudy Abbott Field, and the Warriors (27-10) have used one pitcher. Emmett Daniel allowed five hits worked 91 pitches Tuesday.

Bibb County’s Brayden Cash worked 119 pitches Tuesday, 80 in the first two innings. Landon Rich worked 24, and Aiden Miller worked eight.

Brodie Johnson will start for Westbrook Christian in Game 2, and the rest of the Warriors’ arms remain fresh.
