JACKSONVILLE — Addy Lee went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double and five RBIs, and Jacksonville Christian beat Spring Garden 15-3 in Thursday’s Class 1A, Area 12 softball final.
Both teams advanced to next week’s East Central Regional at Albertville’s Sand Mountain Park.
Carli Chesson went 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI, and Sophie Williams went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs, and Bryleigh Reid went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Mollie Mullinax went 2-for-2 with two runs.
Audrina Williams allowed five hits with one walk and four strikeouts over five innings.
JCA beat Spring Garden 8-2 in the winners’ bracket game. Reid went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run and three RBIs, and Symone Estell went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.
Audrina Williams went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Chesson went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Mullinax went 2-for-4 with a run.
Class 1A, Area 8
WOODLAND TAKES AREA: The Bobcats (19-10-1) beat Fayetteville twice Tuesday, 6-4 and 19–2 to claim the area title.
Both teams advanced to next week’s Central Regional at Montgomery’s Lagoon Park,
Allie Puckett went 3-for-3 with a triple, two doubles, six RBIs and a run in the championship game, and Alyssa Taylor went 3-for-3 with a home run, four runs and two RBIs.
Emma Ellsberry went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, three RBIs and two runs., and Skylar Vann went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs.
Railey Williams pitched a complete game, allowing nine hits with two strikeouts and one walk.
Lucy Phillips went 2-for-3 with two triples, a run and an RBI in the winners’ bracket game, and Taylor went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Ellsberry had a double and two runs.
Williams allowed eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
Class 2A, Area 8
RANBURNE RUNNER UP: The Bulldogs (20-16) played five games Tuesday, beating Vincent 18-11, falling to host and top seed Southeastern 14-6, eliminated Vincent 23-16, beat Southeastern 13-10 to force an “if” game then lost 6-5.
Shaylie Reaves went 3-for-5 with two doubles, five RBIs and two runs in the opener against Vincent. Dakota Martin went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBIs and a run. K.K. Rollins went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run.
Rylann Graham went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs, and Rylie Duke went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Rollins went 4-for-4 with a homer, two doubles, four runs and two RBIs in the elimination game against Vincent, and Karoline Meadows homered with two RBIs.
Peyton Smith went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and three runs, and Carter Martin went 2-for-5 with a double, four RBIs and a run.
Reaves went 2-for-5 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run, and Dakota Martin went 2-for-3 with four runs and two RBIs.
Smith went 4-for-5 with a homer, a double, three RBIs and two runs in the first game of the finals against Southeastern, and Duke went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and three runs.
Carter Martin went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a run and an RBI in the “if” game. Graham went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI.
Rollins went 2-for-4 with a double and a run, and Duke had a double and two RBIs. Kamryn Jenkins had a double and a run.
Class 5A, Area 8
CENTRAL-CLAY RUNNER UP: The Vols (11-20) lost to Briarwood Christian 12-5, beat Sylacauga 11-0, beat Briarwood Christian 14-7 and lost to host and top seed Shelby County 11-1 to finish as area runner up.
Central-Clay and Shelby County clinched berths in next week’s Central Regional at Montgomery’s Lagoon Park.
Lauryn Reed pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts against Sylacauga, and Socarra Lopez went 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBIs and two runs.
Analyssa Harris went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Ensleigh Giddens had a single and four runs.
Harris went 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and a run in the Vols’ victory over Briarwood Christian. Lopez went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs, and Ava Adams went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Sophia Castleberry got the win, allowing four hits and no walks with three strikeouts in three innings.
