Alexandria, White Plains split in weekend tournament at Hoover. Pleasant Valley splits in tourney at Plainview.

Going around the horn on Saturday’s area softball action:

ALEXANDRIA SPLITS: Playing at Hoover, the Valley Cubs (32-12) lost to Saraland 3-1 and beat Mortimer Jordan 4-2.

Khloe England pitched a solid outing against Saraland, allowing three hits and two walks with no earned runs allowed in five innings. Katelynn Robertson had a single and an RBI.

Jacee Brooks went 3-for-3 with two RBIs against Mortimer Jordan. Kate Wheeler wnt 2-for-2 with two runs, and Charlee Parris had a double and an RBI.

Marley Edge got the win, allowing four hits, two earned runs and no walks with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. England pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief, allowing one hit and two walks with two strikeouts.

WHITE PLAINS WINS TWO OF FOUR: The Wildcats (24-20) won two of four games at Hoover, beating Mountain Brook 9-5 and Austin 9-2 and falling to Hartselle 14-5 and Central-Phenix City 8-0.

Karli Otwell went 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI against Mountain Brook, and Sara Kate Adams had a triple and three RBIs. Elena Hogan had a single and an RBI.

Kinsleigh Gross pitched all six innings, allowing eight hits with four strikeouts and three walks.

Otwell went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and three RBIs against Austin, and Jaylie Holt went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Carli Fritts went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs. Emma Tidwell, Ansley Prichard and Carleigh-Anne Green each had a single, a run and an RBI.

Gross allowed three hits, one earned run and one walk with three strikeouts in three innings.

Fritts and Otwell hit solo home runs against Hartselle, and Tidwell went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Piper Thompson had a single and an RBI.

Fritts went 2-for-3 with a double against Central.

PLEASANT VALLEY SPLITS: The Raiders (17-22) fell to Ider 11-0 and beat Sardis 5-4 at Plainview.

Elise Wheeler went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run against Sardis. Charlee Grogan had a single and an RBI, and Alexa Cranmer went 2-for-4 with a run.

Abigail Evans got the win, allowing six hits, one earned run and no walks in seven innings.

Evans and Ellie Patterson each had a single against Ider.
