Weaver’s boys, girls sweep to championships at Orange Beach Makos Mayhem Invitational. Bearcats claim both MVWs.

ORANGE BEACH — Weaver’s boys and girls swept to first-place finishes at the Makos Mayhem Invitational on Saturday.
The boys rolled up 220 points. Bayside Academy took second with 112.5.
The Bearcats got first-place finishes from Peyton Andrews (134 pounds), Haiden Hise (140), Gabriel Snyder (159), Gianluca Torres (177), Dalton Fink (192) and Zach Hooks (217). Dylan Brown (167) finished second, and Weaver got third-place finishes from Jonathan Gochenouer (122), Isaac Overton (146) and Ira Cleary (177).
Coaches voted Andrews as the tournament’s most valuable wrestler.
Weaver’s girls rolled up 137 points, nearly doubling second-place Alma Bryant (76.5).
Sarah Gokey (102), Ashlyn Coleman (134), Ariel Sargent (140), Neveah Cobb (154), Jaylyn Medley (167) and Heaven Bishop (187) won their weight classes. Josie Gochenouer (109), Shyanne Scott (116), Caitlyn Edmondson (147) and Mia Williams (237) took second place, Weaver got third-place finishes from Ashawnie McKinney (128) and Vyktoria James (140).
Coaches voted Coleman MVW.
