TRUSSVILLE — Playing in the Husky Challenge at Hewitt-Trussville on Saturday, Oxford lost to Oak Mountain 25-21, 25-27, 8-15, beat Northridge 25-13, 13-25, 15-8 and Gadsden City 25-12, 25-12 and lost to Hewitt-Trussville in the gold bracket semifinals 13-25, 17-25.

The Yellow Jackets’ top performers:

— Tia Nichols: 19 kills.
— Payton Brooks: seven kills, 78 assists, 21 digs, one block, five aces.
— Preslee Reeves: 23 digs, six aces.
— Adriana Bonilla: 28 digs, four aces.

— Emerald Cole: 18 kills, five blocks.

ALEXANDRIA: The Valley Cubs went 2-3 in the Barry Walker Invitational at Briarwood Christian, beating Leeds 25-13, 25-11, falling to Brewer 16-25, 21-25, falling to Faith Academy 21-25, 25-19, 12-15, beating Ramsay: 25-9, 25-10 and falling to Headland 25-16, 15-25, 14-16.
