Spring roundup

Gann, Maniscalco lead was as Oxford beats Chilton County. Fulmer, Cooper power Weaver softball to fourth consecutive win.

OXFORD — Tide Gann and Reid Maniscalco drove in two runs apiece as Oxford bet Chilton County 7-4 in Friday’s Spring Experience action at Choccolocco Park.

Oxford improved to 17-8.

Gann went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs, and Maniscalco had two RBIs.

Nick Richardson went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Canaan Whitman had a double, two runs and an RBI.

Rocco Maniscalco went 2-for-3 with a run, and Judd Syer was 2-for-4 with a run.

Bryson Bradford got the win, pitching 5 2/3 innings. He allowed six hits, three earned runs and one walk.

Colton Parten worked 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief with one strikeout.

Softball

WEAVER 6, CLEBURNE COUNTY 1: Kynlee Fulmer struck out nine batters and allowed three hits over seven innings as Weaver (5-4) made it four wins in a row and five in the last six games.

Alana Cooper led the way at the plate, going 4-for-4 with three runs and an RBI. McKennah Homesley went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Peyton Marvasty had a double and an RBI.

Anna Shrivinski and Jadyn Smith each had a single and an RBI.
